Cefus will focus on identifying areas of opportunity where the foundation can partner with local people and organizations to support positive, sustainable growth in the Pikes Peak region. He will start work in mid-September, after assisting Catamount Institute's leadership transition.

The foundation offers unique programs, such as owning and operating Venetucci Farm. From its press release:

Cefus brings tremendous energy, experience, and already-established relationships to PPCF’s mission to advance community philanthropy. He will be instrumental in helping PPCF grow its assets to meet the needs and opportunities of the future, and by extension, the Foundation’s ability to generate even more positive impact on our community.

In recent years, the Foundation has launched Pikes Peak Urban Gardens, worked with Colorado Springs Utilities to revitalize the wildlife and birding haven of Pinello Ranch, and launched music, arts and sustainability programs at Aspen Valley Ranch in Woodland Park. In addition to these dynamic programs, which are designed to enhance the quality of life for all residents of the Pikes Peak region, PPCF also offers a wide array of traditional community foundation services. Donor-advised funds, fiscal sponsorship of local initiatives, and several grant-making programs such as Fund for the Arts and the new Ingenuity Grants program all enable PPCF to significantly impact our local community.
