According to an e-mail reprinted on the Gazette's blog, Mary Ann Bransby, a longtime local artist, passed away today due to kidney failure. Read it here.

Among her many pursuits, both in arts and education, Bransby was known for her jewelry and painting. She was also the founder of the group Chromatic Edge, which recently showed at Commonwheel Artist's Co-Op. Earlier this summer, she was honored by the Pikes Peak Watercolor Society at Cottonwood Center for the Arts' International Watermedia XVII show, a group she founded, and was once president.

She was married to Eric Bransby, also an artist, who has installed murals in the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum, Colorado College's Cossitt Hall, and soon, the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center.
