Checking in with Holly Hinkle

I could have titled this post "What we're missing," since I sure miss local artist Holly Hinkle now that she's relocated to Portland, Ore. Rather than taking the dour approach, let's look at the bright side, since she's still sending updates our way.

Per her e-mail this week, Hinkle's current inspirations hail from "The Royal Ballet (the first fifty years,) The Red Shoes and nuances of this nightmarish painting recalled from my childhood home-away-from-home - the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland." Of course, Portland is quite a help too: "Portland is a wonderland and I'm practically coming apart with ideas, inspiration, and artistic energy."
