Normally, we would include this information in our printed film section, however this week we were limited by space. So enjoy the opening of the following films, which are effective Friday, Dec. 2.

Bolshoi Ballet: The Sleeping Beauty Encore (NR)
This is one of Tchaikovsky’s finest compositions and a gem of Imperial Russian ballet, preserved through generations of dancers from its original 1890 staging in St Petersburg.

Chicago the Band Presents an Evening of Holiday Music and Greatest Hits (NR)
The rock legends come to life on the big screen to perform holiday classics from their new album Chicago XXXIII. Fans will also get a chance to see behind the scenes from the band’s recent world tour and hear from current band members.

Don Giovanni: Live from La Scala (NR)
Mozart’s ultimate bad boy meets his match in Anna Netrebko, the opera world’s hottest female star. The opera stars Peter Mattei as the philandering Don, with Bryn Terfel as his sidekick Leporello, and the velvety voiced Ms. Netrebko as the much-abused Donna Anna.

The Metropolitan Opera: Rodelinda Live (NR)
Renée Fleming, sensational in the original 2004 run of Stephen Wadsworth’s much-heralded Met premiere production, reprises her portrayal of the title role. She’s joined by Stephanie Blythe and countertenor Andreas Scholl; Baroque specialist Harry Bicket conducts.

Pokémon the Movie: White - Victini and Zekrom (NR)
Ash and his friends Iris and Cilan arrive in Eindoak Town, built around a castle called the Sword of the Vale. The three Trainers have come to compete in the town’s annual battle competition, and Ash manages to win with some unexpected help from the mythical Pokémon Victini.

St. Olaf Christmas Festival Live (NR)
One of the oldest holiday musical celebrations in the United States, the annual St. Olaf Christmas Festival marks its 100th presentation this year. Enjoy a two-hour, live concert performed by more than 500 college student musicians, broadcast direct from the campus of St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn.
