Mixed Taste and ChitChat

Posted By on Tue, Mar 6, 2012 at 5:04 PM

Just last week, Adam Lerner director of the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver got coverage from the New York Times for the MCA's Mixed Taste talks, which pair unlikely subjects together for an evening of dual lectures.

Mixed Taste is pretty popular, selling out just about every time. Happily, the Galleries of Contemporary Art started to stage their own last year called ChitChats. Unlike the scattered subjects in Mixed Taste, ChitChats pair lectures on "contemporary culture" with a "DIY" segment. So expect some hands-on learning about art, goat cheese, pizza, practical jokes and cocktails with proper talks on topics including: sonic sources, home brewing, installation art and "Tarantino's Rage."

All of the talks, which begin in April, will take place at GOCA 121. They are free for UCCS students and suggested donations of $5 for GOCA members and $10 for everyone else.

Here's the schedule:

Call it an imitation, I don't care. GOCA did post Lerner's article on its Facebook page, after all.
