Art to get you through the week

Posted By on Tue, Sep 3, 2013 at 9:45 AM

What is it about the weeks after long weekends that just drag? Like, it knows you were picnicking on Monday, when you're usually lashed to your desk, and it's gonna make you pay. And really, there's no way to rebel against it. You have to go with it like a good person or something.

But there is a palliative for your woes: A look at the horizon, toward next weekend's pastures, which this coming Saturday is in the form of Comic Arts Day. Happening on Sept. 7 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Escape Velocity Comics & Collectibles and S.P.Q.R., Comic Arts Day will host 15 local and regional artists (like the insanely talented Langdon Foss — who we wrote about here — and Zach Howard) for Q & A panels, art demos, art auctions, kids activities and more. The cool thing is that it happens in both the comic shop and the gallery, just around the corner. Click here for a full list of confirmed artists and event details.

And here, the promised art to get you through this four day mutha'. Stay strong.
