UPDATE: City Councilors hold town halls

Council President Keith King and Councilor Jill Gaebler have scheduled town hall meetings in their districts next week.

King's meeting will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at the West Side Community Center, 1628 W. Bijou St. , Colorado Springs, 80904

King's news release about the meeting says the chief topics for discussion are the $250-million City for Champions tourism project, and "No Man's Land," a stretch of land between 31st Street and Manitou Springs that's left in limbo as to whether the city, El Paso County or Manitou is in charge.

In addition, residents are welcomed to bring up other concerns.

King represents District 3, which encompasses the southwest area of the city and part os downtown.

Gaebler's meeting begins at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, at Sabin Middle School cafeteria, 3605 N. Carefree Circle.

Gaebler's town hall will focus on City for Champions, with the city's economic vitality official Bob Cope on hand. Citizens are welcome to bring other areas of concern to Gaebler during the meeting, however. She represents District 5, which covers the central area of the city.
