Nederland indie-folk band Elephant Revival still can’t match the track record of Nickel Creek, a California acoustic trio that has a Grammy Award plus a Top 10 comeback album under its belt.

But over the past seven years, during which Nickel Creek went on a long hiatus, the Colorado upstarts have been rapidly gaining on them. In the wake of their headlining performance as this year’s MeadowGrass festival, Elephant Revival may even be the bigger draw here in the Southern Colorado market.

Now comes word that band has been brought on board as a last-minute addition to Saturdays’ Nickel Creek show at the Pikes Peak Center, a win-win situation for fans of both bands. Tickets, priced at $36.50 and up, are still available, with Elephant Revival hitting the stage at 8 p.m.
