5 applicants and counting for city's District 2 slot

Five people have applied so far to be appointed to the City Council seat vacated by the recent resignation of Joel Miller, who's running for mayor in the April 7, 2015, election.

The seat represents District 2, which covers the north part of the city.

The applicants:

William Murray, retired Army officer

Glenn Carlson, Corporate Supplier Manager, Arrow Electronics

Rexford Louth, Firearms Associate, Army Air Force Exchange Services (DOD), and Peakview Church of God, Senior Pastor

Bruce Harrington, Principal, Consulting Nonprofits, LLC

David Kelly, Project and Production Manager, Pikes Peak Library District, and President, Liberty First, LLC

Deadline to apply is close of business today.
