Springs gets a second Filipino eatery

Posted By on Mon, Jan 12, 2015 at 11:30 AM

For the last four years, authentic Filipino cuisine could only be found off South Academy Boulevard at Julie's Kitchen

But that changes today with the opening of You-Ka Café at 3743 Bloomington Street, off Powers Boulevard and just two doors down from Arharn Thai.

I snuck in for two minutes last night to snap this menu photo and meet owners Emilou and Greg Savage, who relocated here from Arizona (where she attended culinary school). Emilou is the chef, who spent some time at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort when first in town. This is her first solo venture.

We'll have more info soon in my Side Dish column. Until then, go show some love to a new independent on the chain restaurant row and feel free to write a reader review on our website.
