Diamonds and cans (now clap your hands)

Posted By on Fri, Jan 16, 2015 at 12:00 PM

Here's your latest in food and drink:

• Diamonds, baby. Five to be precise. Twice. That's what AAA has once again bestowed upon The Broadmoor, for the 39th consecutive year as a hotel and the eighth consecutive year for the Penrose Room

Anchutz's dollhouse retains the bragging rights to also being the sole hotel to receive five diamonds every year since the award's creation. So big congrats to them for keeping the excellence consistent.

• According to Red Leg Brewing Company president Todd Baldwin, it's partnering with Veterans Wine and Liquor to to release and celebrate its new lineup of canned beers on Friday, Jan. 23 from 4 to 6 p.m., with giveaways and more.

The brewery's Howitzer Amber, Blue Nose Brown, Devil Dog Stout and Doolittle IPA will all be available. Both businesses are proudly veteran-owned.

C.B. & Potts Restaurant & Brewhouse will imminently open 261 Kaycee Case Place, off of North Gate Boulevard and Voyager Parkway. We just received our media invite to a sneak preview during final staff training, next weekend. The store opens to the public with regular business hours on Monday, Jan. 26. The 40-year-old chain has six Colorado locations plus another brand, The RAM, with locations in the Northwest and Midwest.

• An early heads up: The 24th annual Wine Festival of Colorado Springs, benefitting the Colorado Springs Conservatory, takes place Feb. 19-21 across several local venues. See a full schedule with pricing information and individual event descriptions at the above link.
