C.B. & Potts opens today

Posted By on Mon, Jan 26, 2015 at 9:49 AM

It's kinda like our BJ's conundrum all over again: C.B. & Potts, though not a local independent (on whom we tend to focus our coverage), shows up damn strong for a brew-minded Colorado chain.

The opening of today's shop at 261 Kaycee Case Place, just across from Bourbon Brothers, marks a seventh store for the enterprise. And after enjoying a staff training/media sneak peek/friends-and-family preview on Saturday night, it's easy to see the appeal. For what it is, where it is and the sum impact, our group all left generally liking the place.

The beers are solid, with a few real standouts and commendable seasonals, while on the whole I'll rank the food as again capable, with some clear bright points and apparent consistency. (We don't tend to get too critical on previews, as working out kinks is expected and we'll return later for a detailed review.)

Make sure to try the excellent blackberry porter and the Skadi's Secret Sahti, a Finnish-style beer with huge juniper flavor.

Here's a brief visual tour ahead of your own jaunt:
