Culpepper's cited in 1,000 Foods to Eat Before You Die

A big congrats to Culpepper's Cajun Kitchen owners Martin and Kathy Anderson, whose local eatery earns a mention in the newly released book, 1,000 Foods to Eat Before You Die.

The work is by Mimi Sheraton, who was a New York Times critic in the late '70s and early '80s, among many other postings at prestigious publications.

The Culpepper's citation appears on page 597, as one of the places in the country where maque choux can be tried. Sheraton calls the dish "Louisian's succotash-like vegetable stew."

In a press release, the Andersons note how one of their customers calls the item "creamed corn on steroids."
