Springs boasts a few of 'Most Romantic Restaurants in America'

Firstly, I'd like to point out that the Springs almost never beats Denver in the multitude of annual food and drink lists compiled by a variety of national media sources.

So it's odd to find no Denver-area (well, except for the Flagstaff House in Boulder) eateries on this recently published OpenTable list of 2016 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America

But four Colorado Springs area spots made the cut: Manitou Springs' Briarhurst Manor, Carlos' Bistro, The Broadmoor's Penrose Room, and Pepper Tree Restaurant. Congrats to all, especially ahead of Valentine's Day.

Here's how they were graded:

The list of the 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America is generated from more than 5 million restaurant reviews collected from verified OpenTable diners between December 7, 2014, and December 6, 2015. All restaurants with a minimum “overall” score and number of qualifying reviews were then sorted according to Qualifying restaurants were then scored and sorted according to the percentage of qualifying reviews for which “romantic” was selected as a special feature.
