What If... Festival of Innovation and Imagination
What If... Festival of Innovation and Imagination, Sept. 8, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Downtown Colorado Springs, free,
One might expect any festival that covers six city blocks to offer a good number of performances, activities and vendor booths, but you’d be surprised just how much the What If... Festival manages to pack in. A favorite end-of-summer celebration for local families, the What If... Festival has everything from a food court of local food trucks and beverage vendors to a ninja obstacle course and demonstrations/activities to keep the kids (and the kids-at-heart) busy all day. Cool Science, a local STEM-oriented educational organization for kids, will host fun science experiments at their booth, and kids can participate in crafts and activities offered by artists, tinkerers, performers and more. Relax and enjoy live music and dance performances, or enter the chalk art competition and compete alongside artists of all ages for $1,000 in prizes. Best of all, attendance is free, so it’s open for any and all families to come and play as we say goodbye to summer.
