Vinyl enthusiasts, start your engines. Yes, it’s that time of year again, when Record Store Day organizers announce their upcoming limited-edition offerings. Highlights of this year’s event, which takes place in brick-and-mortar shops around the world on April 21, will include:

• A metal box set from Run The Jewels that includes a clear etched vinyl disc branded by Marvel Comics as well as an RTJ slipmat

• A Courtney Barnett double EP on picture discs, with commemorative poster and temporary tattoo

• A trio of LPs featuring unreleased David Bowie live performances on 180gm vinyl

• A five-LP set commemorating the 50th anniversary of Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison

• A 1st Studio Dub Plate Special box featuring five 7” singles worth of classic and unreleased material

Other noteworthy RSD releases will include a 12” collaborative single from Brian Eno and My Bloody Valentine’s Kevin Shields, the first vinyl reissue of a Cure remix album, and a 12” picture disc of John Fogerty’s Short Stop album hat looks like a well-worn baseball.

And finally, in the Dishonorable Mention category, you’ll find a live recording of Rage Against the Machine’s performance outside the 2000 Democratic National Convention, one of two “shadow conventions” funded by billionaire Arianna Huffington, premised on the idea that there was zero difference between candidates Al Gore and George W. Bush. (Real smart move, Rage.)
