If you want to know more about Colorado artist Scramble Campbell’s history, here’s some impressive numbers for you: Over 18 years, he’s created 400 works of art live at Red Rocks Amphitheater, and his portfolio contains 2,600 pieces created at more than 1,000 concerts across the country. Campbell is best known for his live paintings, and in fact helped pioneer the movement of painting the atmosphere at live shows. “His mission is taking the art to the people and giving people an opportunity to see the process of art from start to finish, inspired by the concert they are listening to and grooving to themselves,” his website says. Now, for the 14th year, he’s presenting a showcase of his work at the venue that inspired it, and a venue that inspires us all every time we go: Red Rocks, the outdoor amphitheatre that attracts big-name acts from all over the world, and crowds to match. Throughout the course of this exhibit, Campbell will be leading tours and discussions daily — yes, daily — showcasing his artwork alongside photographs and memorabilia from Red Rocks’ history.
