It’s probably not an official sign of the apocalypse, but the announcement that Hanson will be performing with more than a dozen symphony orchestras over the course of its upcoming tour does come as a bit of a shock. The brotherly pop trio will also be featuring symphonic accompaniment on their next album String Theory, which will include new material as well as orchestrally-enhanced renditions of the group’s better know songs, including "Where's The Love,” "This Time Around" and the once-inescapable “MmmBop.” An album release date has yet to be announced, but the tour does include a Sept. 8 Boettcher Concert Hall date with the Colorado Symphony.

In other news, Avenged Sevenfold has canceled its disconcertingly titled “End of the World Tour,” which was to include an Aug. 30 Pepsi Center show. “ “A blood blister has formed on my vocal folds and is preventing them from vibrating properly,” singer M. Shadows explained in a letter to disappointed fans. “Luckily, doctors feel that three months of no singing and voice rest should get my cords back on track.” In other words, it’s not the end of the world.

In the meantime, here’s this week’s complete rundown of new show announcements:
