Cottonwood trail project opens

Posted By on Wed, May 1, 2019 at 10:25 AM

After 16 months of construction, the city finished replacing an “aging, substandard bridge” over Cottonwood Creek, and completed an important trail link by extending the Cottonwood Creek Trail under the bridge, according to an April 25 statement.

The new bridge is located on North Academy Boulevard just south of York Road and Brookwood Drive.

Funding for the $7 million project came from multiple sources, including the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority and the city’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services department.
