California-based 3G Venture II LLC, 1625 Garden of the Gods Road, got a reprieve of noise testing by the city, due June 21, so the city could obtain more sophisticated sound-testing equipment.

“Neighborhood Services is preparing to take noise measurement of 3G Venture Enterprises’ activities in preparation for possible court action if future inspections find violations are occurring,” city spokesperson Kim Melchor says in an email.

3G came under fire by residents months ago after it started mining the cryptocurrency Bitcoin in a former Intel building north of the Chelsea Glen neighborhood. The unceasing drone of fans to cool hundreds of computers exceeds city noise limits, neighbors say, based on their own sound tests (“Noisy neighbor,” May 29).

Melchor says the equipment should arrive within the next few weeks.
