Reps. Doug Lamborn, Colorado Springs, and Scott Tipton, Cortez, will act as honorary co-chairs of the 2020 re-election campaign of President Donald Trump, the Republican National Committee announced, despite both skipping the 2016 GOP National Convention where Trump was nominated.

On Oct. 4, Lamborn co-sponsored House Resolution 604, censuring and condemning Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff, Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, for his “blatant misrepresentation of the conversation between President Trump and Ukraine President Zelensky.”

Democrats have announced impeachment proceedings based in part on Trump’s solicitation of Zelensky’s help in investigating political rival, former Vice President Joe Biden, who’s running for president

In a statement, Lamborn alleged Democrats had “grossly misrepresented the transcript” of Trump’s July phone call, which led a whistleblower to file a complaint, triggering a congressional investigation.

Lamborn also said he was “deeply concerned” about the “lack of process or precedence in the Democrats’ recent actions.”
