When: July 30-Aug. 17 2010

The Pikes Peak Pastel Society (yes, we have one of those) allows artists to channel their inner children by using crayons made just for grown-ups. The 10 in 2010 exhibit at the Cottonwood Center for the Arts (427 E. Colorado Ave., 520-1899) celebrates the group's 10th anniversary (and yes, they've been around that long) and will showcase a variety of vibrant pastel paintings done by members. The grand opening for the show is from 5 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, and is free to the public; the exhibit runs through Aug. 17. Visit anytime today, or any other Tuesday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., or Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Kelsey Fowler
