The city of Colorado Springs was to kick off the start of the 2018 paving season under voter-approved 2C funding on May 1. It's the third year of operations under the measure approved in 2015, which imposes a five-year .62 percent sales tax that generates about $50 million per year. In a release, the city said contracted crews will pave 223 lane miles in 2018 with 2C funds, bringing the three-year total to 694 lane miles.
