The city announced Feb. 22 that ballot measure 2C, approved by voters in 2015, finished its second year ahead of schedule.

"Already completing 47 percent of planned streets in the first two years alone," the city said in a release, "the City is trending ahead of schedule to reach the goal of 1,000 lane miles of new asphalt over the five-year life of the ballot initiative."

The sales tax, which aims to generate about $50 million a year for five years, raised a total of $102.3 million and spent $90.2 million in 2016 and 2017. Last year, 242 lane miles of city roads were improved with 2C money. View an interactive map of streets on the paving list at coloradosprings.gov/2C.
