If four dozen grindcore bands come to Colorado Springs and we're all too shell-shocked to hear them, do they really make a sound? Most likely they do, but you can find out for sure this Friday and Saturday when the second annual 71Grind Festival brings its marathon of high-decibel mayhem to your two favorite venues. From local punk icons Nobodys to SoCal hardcore vets Death by Stereo, this year's festival promises 20 hours of deafening delights over the course of two all-ages days at Flux Capacitor (3530 Chelton Loop) and the Black Sheep (2106 E. Platte Ave.). Friday 3:30 p.m. to midnight, Saturday 1 p.m. to 1 a.m., $25/day, $40/two-day pass, schedule and details at — Bill Forman
