Re: “Falling Starrs

When I was a boy, I would ride 2-3 times/week and just watch Mr. Starr work on the sculptures. He was so prolific with the English language. After years of watching him put these pieces together from scrap stuff, his wife invited me in with Mr. Kempf for a glass of lemonade. His wife was Swedish, or so he told me and that I should marry a good Swedish woman. He then took me into the gallery above the garage where he showed me the most beautiful bronze works. I find it so hard to believe he could take his own life....I just found out and it truly saddens me.....I still have a picture of him working on one of the pieces as well as some of his bronze works.

Re: “Photographer Bill Young focuses his camera on homelessness and dialogue

I want to see a nice panorama of a field; with mounds of trash surrounding an unused 30 yard dumpster.
Because although I care about the homeless; I will never understand their abusage of the world that they do live in - our Colorado outdoors and natural lands.
The Concrete Couch has a giant dumpster such as the one mentioned; and teh Concrete Couch's current outdoor project also has miscellaneous trash and garbage all over it's property; in and around Shooks Run.
Too bad none of the homeless can't take turns volunteering to clean up their own areas.

Re: “Mark Barsocchini shows us the ropes as he goes pro with his knotwork

It's great to see a fellow knot tyer find their place. Our family has been doing similar work for 61 years here in Mystic, CT and it's great to see another success story. The tradition is very much alive , and we've taught over 5,000 kids their first decorative knots just in the last 3 years.

Re: “Palmer Land Trust partners with artists for new outdoor awareness campaign

Hey, if the citizens lose their lawsuit, why dont you quickly go and paint Strawberry Fields before the Broadmoor bulldozers begin the destruction... Shame on you Palmer Land Trust for aiding and abetting the land grab!

Re: “Colorado Springs-based Facebook page wants you to Give a Shit About Nature

GASAN is fraudulent. I had a well researched post removed and I was banned from the site without warning. My post? It was on the benefits of switching to a hydrogen based economy and moving away from a carbon based economy and how to go about making such a thing happen. All they want to do is complain instead of actually coming up with solutions.

What an amazing story and what creativity! I saw this on FB. I wish I could see all of this talented woman's work, but unfortunately I am in Guatemala. Is there a website to see more?

I can remember when these were sitting out at the Kempf place. It was always interesting and fun to drive by there.
