Re: “Colorado Springs is networking with the girl next door

"About 120 Colorado Springs residents are members of Nextdoor." I'm pretty sure there are far more than 120 residents on Nextdoor.

John Stanton is not the lead of anything. Hes a self-appointed busy body who moderates a Next Door webpage.

Re: “Lifetime state parks pass for seniors

I think you are all forgetting that the fees are to financially support the Colorado State Parks. Running the parks and maintenance & improvements are expensive. Other state's park fees do not contribute to Colorado's coffers. I, for one, appreciate the opportunity to purchase a Lifetime Senior Pass. This is a step towards helping seniors. If the $175 price tag seem to high then continue to pay the daily rates on an as needed basis. You have choices.

FYI, the National Senior Park fees are now $80.

Re: “Tennessee man says quality of Colorado Springs weed 'is an absolute fraud'

I lived in denver for 2 years and am originally from tn.. i can tell you that i was disappointed with the weed whenever i first got there. But it all boils down to ond thing.. you have to know the right places. Colorado law is that dispensaries have to grow in house a major percentage of the weed they sell. The altitude affects this greatly. Since the elevation is so high up it is such dry air that it makes your bud dry put quicker and lose its overall potency, along with make it harder to roll up lol. I also know that the laws vary from county to county. If ever in edgewater right over the bridge from downtown denver then check out "northern lights"

Re: “Shit hits the fan for Meadow Muffins

Damned sorry to hear of the sad demise. As a former west-sider I miss the somewhat shopworn comfort of what MM once was. Hit-and-miss bar food but always felt like home that needed vacuuming,

Re: “All aboard to pick a new bus station

So I guess the city scrapped the idea again? No new developments on this issue in 3 years.

Re: “Female cops sue over fitness test

They're suing the city over a fitness test that doesn't account for age and gender and at the same time stating that the test has to be free from unequal treatment based upon sex and age under the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution.

According to therm, on the one hand, the test should account for "gender" but on the other hand, the test should NOT be Unequal. If it accounts for Gender, it is Unequal. None of those ladies have a bit of logic. Most women contradict themselves on a daily basis. This clearly shows that.

Re: “Painting hits a nerve for Air Force Academy grads

I'm a '76 grad and a member of both the Protestant Cadet Choir and the Cadet Chorale. I spent HUNDREDS of hours in that building and *never* heard of the 17 spires representing the 12 apostles and 5 Chiefs of Staff until several years after I graduated. As far as I knew, the chapel was planned for 20 spires but was curtailed by budgetary limits. I could be wrong on that, HOWEVER,

Defending the faith is a good thing. When I was there, there were (at least) sanctuaries for Protestants, Catholics, Jews, and Buddhists (maybe more, but that's what I remember). We were not there to defend "A" faith, but to defend the rights for all faiths, as defined in the Constitution. I personally adhere to and will defend the Christian faith, but I also adhere to the notion that our military stands to defend the faiths of others with whom I may personally disagree with but with whom I will gallantly stand alongside in defense.

Re: “How to make goat milk lotion

If you pasteurize your goat milk, it will last 10x longer. Heat raw milk in double boiler to 145 degrees F and hold it at that temperature for 30 minutes. Once time is up, immediately plunge your milk pot into an ice bath to get it cooled down. Refrigerate and use immediately. Use cold milk to heat for the lotion making portion. The initial heat stage does not count as heat for the water stage of lotion making. Also, if you use powdered goat's milk, it will not go rancid as fast. Lasts up to 6 months shelf life. Good luck and don't forget your preservatives. To use powdered goat's milk, dilute at a 1:1 ratio. That means ounce for ounce with distilled water only.

Purple Coneflowers by Christopher Weed. Griffin I'm not sure if you are still working for the Indy. I see you didn't credit the artist who created the Coneflowers. I'm sure you just overlooked it.

Re: “Ambulance franchise fees drive rates

AMR physically has not been in colorado since 1979 but the business has. They bought rural metro and other companies like A1 paramedics that have been established that long and used the original companies establishment dates. AMR EL Paso county is a drain on the community and treats employees like dirt even breaking corporate policies to do so.

Re: “Lifetime state parks pass for seniors

I am moving to CO from CT. My Senior Pass for US National Parks was $10 lifetime. My CT pass is free. $175 to Seniors is price gouging! Please re-think's not right. So, do the right thing.
