Re: “Rooster’s Competition BBQ aims to live up to KC quality

I work downtown and love Food Truck Tuesdays. I'm a big fan of Go Fish, Witty's and Roosters BBQ. I've eaten from each of the trucks a few times and have had good experiences. Rooster's bbq is my favorite truck, love thier brisket and pulled pork sandwiches. I usually double up on the potato salad and their sweet bbq sauce is my favorite.

Re: “Rooster’s Competition BBQ aims to live up to KC quality

Maybe I should have read between the lines a little bit, because I got some for lunch today after reading this review and I was vastly underwhelmed. I got brisket with a side of potato salad and mac and cheese, and the brisket was pre-drenched in bbq sauce yet was still dry. The mac and cheese must have came out of a box with a rip-off top, and I don't know which potato salad you had because mine didn't even have tang or cream. I literally ditched it and got lunch somewhere else

Re: “Lemongrass Bistro’s lunch offerings land affordable, delicious

I will miss ordering my favorite menu item: Chicken Pho Bun minus the sprouts. I have never tasted anything that can compare to it from other Vietnamese restaurants. I think the location was not optimal to this tasty restaurant's menu. I hope Roberto goes thru with someday opening his own Guatemalan Restaurant somewhere in Colorado Springs.

Re: “Dinner Down on the Farm

I am a Colorado Springs native who grew up with family dinners at the Hungry Farmer. Although it was time for them to close their doors I desperately miss the homemade rolls, cinnamon rolls, apple butter and vegetable barley soup. If there is ANYONE out there that knows the recipe please call me at 719-650-0328!

Re: “Border Burger Bar Eastside not fully dialed in

Colorado green chile? Colorado has a lot going for it- not green chile. Sell your overpriced home, move back to New Jersey, or Texas, or Portland, or wherever you came from if you want to preserve Colorado culture (it's nominally the chile). If you do want green chile, take a vacation in NM

Re: “Pho-N-Thai returns near downtown after years-long hiatus

Got my blocks messed up and thought this was 3800 block. So, just south of Fillmore. Nice!

Re: “Border Burger Bar Eastside not fully dialed in

Reminds me of a review I wrote after going to the Manitou location:

Scientists need to study how this place somehow made fried jalapenos, (sad looking) avocado, and spicy mayo taste bland and boring. Menu says every burger is made between medium and medium well, but mine was so well done that it had no taste, only texture. It's strange because despite being cooked in the fires of Hades my burger was served cold. Didn't even eat half of it.

Near downtown is used pretty liberally. Its 2.8 miles away, north of Fillmore St.

Re: “Exploration-inspiring Beasts and Brews emerges as a local world-beater

It kind of stinks that Kylee, the FOH Manager, didn't get that much credit at all in here along with her significant other, Ben. They are truly the ones that did all the leg work for getting that beer in the place. I feel like credit should be given properly here because that was hours upon hours of work they did just to give credit to someone who came in after the fact.
