Re: “Old Chicago (Powers)

My son and I just stopped for pizza and beer last week. He said it was his and his friends favorite place. It became my favorite that day. Really awesome pizza and the beer selection was outstanding. The staff was accommodating and quickly located the Preakness horse race for me on the TV's. Loved this experience!

Re: “Ivywild Tavern

The owner beats his wife and severely I will add. He managed to get patrons to lie for him when he blackened her face so badly 2years ago (she could not function at all. She missed work at her day job also) so he avoided jail. He should be in prison for life. He has children by different women and pretty much abandoned them. Do not patronize this bar if you are against violence toward women or violence in general. I could not say this if it were not true.
I have been told this bar is sold but I would not be surprised if he remains a silent partner somehow. The Springs liquor board is really not interested in the character of who they give out liquor licenses to anymore, as long as you have the fee they ask for then...
This bar in and of itself is the place for raging alcoholics and in-your-face street people who will harass you and fights are common as well.

Re: “Colorado Coffee Merchants

I have been buying and drinking the coffee at Colorado Coffee Merchants for eight years, and as a serious coffee drinker, can assure you that they are the best coffee roasters in the City, and they make the best espresso and counter drinks in the City, too. The air-roasting method so heavily criticized in the previous post is in fact the secret to their coffee. Traditional roasting means leaves the thin, colorless shell on the roasted bean, and this shell is the source of the bitterness one tastes in traditionally roasted coffee. Air-roasting gets rid of this shell, and provides a smoother, more richly flavored coffee, whether one is drinking dark roast, medium or light. I also recommend Colorado Coffee Merchants for their wide selection of organically grown coffees, from Malawi, Tanzanian and Ethiopian, to the exotic and super expensive Blue-Mountain Jamaican, and everything in between from Sumatran to Italian to Mexican to Columbian. That CCM also has their own chef now, producing wonderful, fresh breakfast and lunch dishes, and amazing fresh pastries, makes this place all the more worthwhile. Finally, if you really do fall in love with CCM, buy one of their annual copper cups, and all your refills are free for a year. So much for the dishonest commentary above that their coffee is outrageously priced. I have gotten one of their copper cups every year for the last seven years, and what this means is that a triple-espresso fortified (three shots of espresso with one's choice of daily coffee added up to the brim)--normally a $4.75 drink at any coffee bar or kiosk in the City, costs me $.2.24 per day--a real bargain where premium coffee is concerned!

Re: “Unitarian Universalist Church of Pueblo

FUS moved to 110 Calla Avenue, across from City Park, next door to Park East Restaurant (which is on the corner of Goodnight & Calla). The programs are at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. All are welcome; the building is handicap accessible, and the Sunday School meets at 10:30 also. There is no dogma and the members are not required to share the same beliefs. (Nonbelievers and believers are welcome and encouraged to share ideas.) The message phone is 719.561.0880 or you may call 719.924.5141.

Re: “Leon Young Youth Sports Complex

New to the area, grandkids playing softball here. They are very nice fields but there is so much dog poop everywhere it ruins the park. 2 year old got poop all over his shoes! Very disappointed. Maybe ban dogs if owners cant be responsible?

I think its worth noting to anyone reading these reviews and to the CSINDY themselves that the posts here are not based on The Social at all and should be taken down. ONE is from 2013 and the other is from 2014. The Social opened its doors April 3rd, 2018 FIVE and FOUR years AFTER these posts. In the meantime were jamming out to GhettoBlaster and Tone-Loc right now as of this review! This place ROCKS and has local acts opening for National Acts! SUPER fun place to See ACtS you normally have to go to Denver to see and for a better price! The Stadium Seating VIP is legit!

Re: “The Club of Arts

Erins painting and drawing classes are fun and educational and Erin is very friendly and hands on with the students. The other staff members like Melinda, Tiffany and Beth are rude and inexperienced working with special needs adults. The building has a tendency to feel crowded and there is little to no emotional support when a student feels upset. Some of its good, some of its bad. Need to replace some of the new staff members with more caring ones. Would not say its the best.

Re: “El Rey Del Taco

Had a quick lunch. CANNOT WAIT to return for more. I've eaten at every tacqueria from Michigan and NY to Texas City. The very best homemade flour tortillas that literally are so so soft and light they float your mouth, lying fluffy on each plate all stuffed with goodies. I cannot wait to return and bring someone with me. Try one of their burritos for a full lunch or dinner. ~ Wendy

Re: “Grant Pharms MMC

Profit margin rules for Owners of this place! Establishment closed. But, wanted to make money on towing people. $200. To get my car 24 hours later. So much for being concerned about Colorado Springs citizens. Good to know it's all about the $$$. Way to go local business!!

Re: “Awakening Church

Awakening church is a place where people are nurtured, empowered, and developed in a spirit filled community. They have a place for kids, teens, women, men, and singles. The people there are awesome.

Re: “EntertainMart

Decent place , the only complaint anyone could make is that they overprice used 3d and 4k blu rays. They barely sell them at the prices they put on them, but other blus are better priced for sure. . But you will find lots of them and much more. comics and lots of things.

I was here to get some nursery pots and they didn't have the size I needed so the girl told me she could sell me some used ones for way cheaper than new ones
