Re: “Reader: Prayers and concealed guns won't change a thing

Dave,In the 18 years before Port Arthur (1996), Australia had 13 mass shootings, defined as shootings in which five or more people were killed. In the 21 years since, there have been none.

Re: “CSPD Chief Carey: city needs more than 100 more officers

I've no use for the municipal corporate system of governance and like to see the system whole dissolved. I'll take YHVH's Torah over this Satanic mess any day, in the name of Yeshua.

Re: “Reader: Prayers and concealed guns won't change a thing

"You can bet that a number of people sitting in that movie in Aurora were carrying concealed." -- Larimore Nicholl

You are incorrect. The theater was a posted "No Carry"property, which means that legally you cannot carry there even with a permit, and most people who have a concealed carry permit abide by the laws.

"and besides, if the police came into a scene of a gun battle, they would not know who were the bad guys"

A doom and gloom scenario that the gun control crowd loves to peddle, but the truth is that both those with concealed carry permits and the police are prepared for such an eventuality.

"No one in the Las Vegas massacre fired back; their concealed pistols were useless. "

You again assume that there were some present. The truth is that the only people allowed concealed carry in Vegas must be a resident of Clark county Nevada or have had training in Clark county, and must have a Clark county permit. Permits from anywhere else are no good in Vegas. The vast majority of the people at the concert were not from Clark county.

"My practical advice is to follow the success in Australia. "

Australia didn't really have much of a problem BEFORE they passed their insane laws.

Those darn pesky facts, eh Larimore?

Re: “Reader: Prayers and concealed guns won't change a thing

You forgot to mention that after the austrailian gun ban, home invasions went up 70%. We will not cower to left wing lunatics and terrorists. The church shooter was an Antifa supporting atheist wound up by CNN and people like you. Yes i think i will pray and go and get a concealed carry immediately. Have fun being a defenseless victim.

I'm happy you're comfortable being a victim. Police are usually minutes away when seconds count. Good luck to you

Re: “CSPD Chief Carey: city needs more than 100 more officers

Time to bolster the CSPD! Violent crime is the norm nowadays on the evening news! Response times are so long because they don't have the necessary staffing. It's not rocket science folks. Vote for 2A or shut up! Better yet, apply to the PD rather than being an armchair police officer!

Re: “TABOR author on question 1A

Thanks Mr Bruce for writing the piece. On my own I had figured out this was something to vote no on. Many dont realize I-25 is not a local issue. (Though the traffic issues are local!)
The underlying point is that politicians are merely, illegally, grabbing more money. Its like giving heroin to an addict, they always want more and will lie, cheat and steal to support their habit.

Dave :-)

Re: “TABOR author on question 1A

Interesting to note that the guy supposedly selling his snake oil to the gullible had his charity cleared by the IRS in the original tax trial but the TABOR hater judge in Denver would not allow the fact into evidence!

It's not the job of citizens in Colorado Springs to fund I-25. We should not be overriding the State Constitution with a local vote! Vote "NO" in November.

Isn't this from the guy found guilty of money laundering, attempted bribery, and tax fraud then violated his probation? Yeah... no thanks.

Re: “Pueblo's marijuana museum fizzles

Aubree Adams,
Are you trying to say all Cannabis use is drug use?
What about people that only take CBD for medical reasons they do not get high from CBD, do you even understand that?
For you to feel that way is like me saying all alcohol use is the same when the real truth is only 15% of alcohol users are alcoholics and the rest can use it or leave it. That and the problems associated with prohibition of alcohol or Cannabis are worse then the substances them selves, or did you forget?
People like you created prohibition and it failed, admit it.
