Re: “The 'teachers' in this lab are dead

Superb writing Independent! How could it not be? Jim and Bonnie are incredible, passionate, kind and really know their stuff!!! I have been Jim's patient for over two years and love every weekly session, sometimes two sessions, that I have. Acupuncture has provided so many healthy benefits for me. I'll be switching from an organ donor to a full body donor. It would be very helpful to know how to make donations to the lab. I was surprised the article did not have that information. To have such a unique and positive educational program here in our beautiful city is so awesome. I personally am ready to make a donation. Who else is with me?

Re: “CU regents OK funding for UCCS sports medicine center

Health and wellness tourism is becoming a pretty significant market and destinations that have state of the art clinics and hospitals are benefiting from this revenue stream into their economy.

Health and wellness tourism includes travelling both nationally and internationally to destinations with facilities for the purpose of promoting health and well-being through physical, psychological, or spiritual activities.

Re: “City EPA lawsuit costs on the rise

RAISE THE DEVELOPERS IMPACT FEES ! Since the City Council and County Commissioners have been on the POCKETS of developers for over 50 years, developers impact fees are 70% LESS than the average of the front range cities. If someone with courage raised them to equal the other front range cities that would be an increase of $15k-$20k/residence. More than enough to pay for all stormwater issues (CAUSED BY DEVELOPMENT ONLY) and improve the roads to the better standard they used to adhere by. But you can bet Suthers will stay in the pockets of the developers and billionaires in town and screw the general population .... that's his pattern!!

Re: “TheatreWorks honors Kathleen Fox Collins

Kathleen has been to the arts what Pike's Peak has been to local scenery. We who have had the privilege of knowing her and working with her these last 40 years consider her a treasure and a delight.

Re: “CU regents OK funding for UCCS sports medicine center

This sure doesn't seem like a project the Regional TOURISM Act should have sponsored.

Re: “Reader: Why not choose clean, sustainable energy anyways?

Mr. Scuba fox: Here we go with the same government talkie talk. Starting a total make over of coal fired plants COST MONEY. Up front right now money. Is it better? Will it eventually pay for its self? YES. But up front is big money. The small Solar system we had at a house in the Springs cost us over $10,000.00 just to buy the equipment then about that much to get it installed. Yes our bills went to nothing most months afterwards and that was paying for itself but the up front was a bunch. Now imagine the scale your talking about and getting an elected official to sign off on those costs.GOOD LUCK! Some States and Cities passed the buck off on private companies and take a look at there rates.Peublo rates are nuts Denver ant much better. I wont argue that clean energy is needed and watching and breathing the green clouds over the cities I grew up in was terrible and we have made huge advances since the 60s and 70s but real life dictates what the reasons why things are not now moving faster.

Re: “Reader: Why not choose clean, sustainable energy anyways?

Mr Rocky Smith. Regarding your statement: "COST! First there is no money. Yes they could raise the price of elect. service but that puts more of a problem on consumers and many cant afford it now."

The *cost* to the public doesn't go away because it's not directly paid for. The public pays by the effects of pollution on public health ... who pays that? And also there's the cost of, yes despite rampant denial, the VERY REAL effects of Global Warming that's an Existential Threat to Life on Earth. What's that worth to you. Google, "The Physics of Global Warming" Powell.

You reveal yourself to be the "other kind of socialist" ... the "cost redistribution" kind of socialist. Yes, you're a socialist ... the kind you love.

Plus, costs documented at whitehouse.gov are passed onto the public to the tune of:

Production Fossil Fuel Subsidies $4.7 B / year.

There are a number of tax preferences, described below, available in the United States to producers of fossil fuels. The preferences below are all permanent provisions in the tax code. The annual revenue costs estimated for each provision are taken from the Mid-Session Review of the Budget of the United States Government, Fiscal Year 2015, which is available here: http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/budget/msr.

Provision descriptions are derived from the General Explanation of the Administrations Revenue Proposal, sometimes referred to as the Treasury Green Book, which is available here: http://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/ta…

In total, the United States government has identified eleven Federal fossil fuel production tax provisions, as shown below. Combined, these provisions total USD 4.7 billion in annual revenue cost (nominal annual average figure based on the 10-year revenue estimate). The provisions are listed in order of greatest annual revenue cost to least.

Re: “Sessions pinned on medical marijuana before slipping through Senate hearing

hopefully he will be as un-effective as our p***y grabber-in-chief. They can't get anything done and certainly aren't looking for any bipartisan help. They have been the party of no for so long they forgot how to govern. two thirds of the country already realizes the mistake we just made electing this uninformed unqualified egomaniacal bigoted kleptocrat.

We had the Professor and now we got Gilligan.

Re: “Reader: Support full investigation of Russian influence or resign

A few things that stick in my craw. Its been proven Russia has screwed with our election. It has yet to be shown that Trump or his buddies helped them out. And yes I said "YET" thats what the investigation is all about. But even if they didnt help or were involved. Why hasent the White House spoke out against there screwing around?I kind of understand the GOP stonewalling they dont need a black eye on another GOP President. But the Trump White house and his Cabinet have said nothing but praise for Putin and Russia. I wonder why? I personally think Trump may be the biggest present Russia ever gave the Democrats. The next Elections will tell.
