Re: “Meat market

What do get when you cross an aborted breastaraunt, an idiot fast food legend (in his own mind), and a shady breastaraunt-booby-guru (also in his own mind)?

Re: “HuHot is everything good and bad about chain restaurants

I went to the one on N. Academy and will never go back. I was sitting with my friend and we were talking as we ate. We had only been there about 30 minutes and my friend was getting ready to go back through the line. Before she could a manager came over and said if we were done he'd like us to leave because other people were waiting for a table. I contacted the regional manager but had to leave a voice message and he didn't return my call.

Re: “HuHot is everything good and bad about chain restaurants

I stopped taking my family there ages ago. The prices kept creeping up, and the staff were pretty indifferent. Its more fun to do stir-fry at home as a family anyways - minus the 3 dollar soda

Re: “HuHot is everything good and bad about chain restaurants

I've only been there once but enjoyed the products and the experience. It's worth checking out.

Re: “Whirlyball to bring recreation, craft beer to central Springs

Speak for yourself! I think it's time for LivesLocally to live elsewhere.

Matt, I'm excited for this place too and I was also at the soft opening. Super fun! And it's taking over a space that's been empty way too long. Very cool!

Re: “Whirlyball to bring recreation, craft beer to central Springs

I wish him luck, but this guy apparently didn't do much research. Nobody within 3 miles of Rustic Hills drinks craft beer and Colorado Springs is far from a bowling mecca. The only thing being rolled around here are drunks and joints.

Re: “Story Coffee barista/roaster Eliza Lovett recovering after roasting accident

It's wonderful the community rallied around this barista, and a great example of what our community can do, thanks to the Independent. But how many poor and/or minority workers in our community have had an industrial accident that we never heard about, don't have a support network like this young lady, or work in something less interesting to the Indy crowd than elite coffee, or are not in the downtown area near Indy staffers? If the answer is that they aren't interesting to Indy readers, we have a real problem.

Thank you to all the Baristas who took shifts and showed what real community taking care looks like.
