Re: “Colorado Springs Utilities says it has enough water to share

Did you know in Europe they have "right to be forgotten" laws CS indy should look it up. And legal precedent in the US supports this as well. Also did you know there is no way to delete an account on this website? They should add a delete button to prevent any kind legal trouble in the future.

Re: “City parks looks at shuttles to deal with growing attendance at local attractions

If our spectacular natural surroundings are worthy of visitors from around the world, then they are worthy of planning ahead and reserving your visit. Rather than polluting and depersonalizing shuttles, consider instead limiting the number of daily visitors during peak season. The internet is here to stay and would make such reservations simple and almost universally accessible. There are many days throughout the calendar year when neither shuttles nor reservations are necessary. Why commercialize a natural treasure when not necessary?

The increased outdoor recreation use of public lands surely should tell the GOP we dont want more public acres taken over by mining, drilling, and other de facto privatization.

Re: “City prevails in Strawberry Fields ruling

Mayor John Suthers - this deal is horrendous.
You've proven again and again to not be FOR the people of Colorado. Promoting this land deal like you promoted that unconstitutional 'raising the bar'. Suthers just does for the GOP what he can and for their fund raisers and sells out Colorado.

Re: “Springs sets new policy for e-bikes on local trails

I don't understand why pedal assist bikes are not allowed on multi-use trails. A pedal assist bike is exactly the same as a regular bike except it helps the rider boost his/her pedaling.

We hear the rumblings through the halls and in the offices, so many of us conclude, the little love affair you've been having with D. May and A. Folsom, and those dirty deeds you've been carrying out behind the scenes is paying off for you!

Re: “Springs sets new policy for e-bikes on local trails

This does not make sense. Why discriminate against CLASS 2 Electric Bicycles?

The bicycle industry definition of a Class 2 electric bicycle, or low-speed throttle-assisted electric bicycle, limits the power to less than 750 watts with a maximum assisted speed of 20 mph. These are the exact same limits that apply to the industry definition for Class 1 electric bicycles.

There is no evidence that Class 1 e-bikes are inherently safer than Class 2. In fact, Class 2 riders can maintain better control when they use a graduated throttle to start a bike rolling in a stable fashion so they can then start pedaling.

Class 2 e-bikes don't travel any faster than Class 1 with assistance. They should never be confused with unregulated high-speed e-bikes. It is unfair to discriminate against people who want or need a Class 2 e-bike when they are subject to the exact same power and assisted speed limits as Class 1.

Many, maybe most, class 2 e-bikes offer the rider the option of both pedal-assist and throttle-assist.

The throttle-assist is important functionality for many riders (e.g., older riders or those with physical limitations) who need a little extra help just to get an e-bike moving so they can start pedaling with the pedal-assist mode. For example, a rider stopped on a hill can use throttle-assist to help get the bike rolling in a controlled way so they can then start pedaling.

Without the availability of throttle-assist, e-bikes are not a viable option for many people who could otherwise use them as an alternative to automobiles for transportation.

Class 1 and Class 2 e-bikes are identical in terms of power and assisted speed limits, so access to paved and improved surface trails should be equal.

Re: “Colorado Springs Utilities says it has enough water to share

Here's my complete thought: The city would be smart to NOT turn Banning Lewis Ranch into another 70,000+ homes thirsty for SDS water. Instead, supply the outlying water districts which already have homes with that SDS water. Then get out of the growth business. We have hit the wall on water supply vs. demand in Colorado. Time for a game change.

Re: “Downtown stadium site is a mystery

Article in today's Gazette that a downtown baseball stadium may yet live to see another day. People need to bombard the Mayor's office with opposition to turning downtown into a commercial sports and drinking wasteland. To hell with $27M in state money that's on the table for this hog-assed porker of a deal. If Denver can deep six an Olympic bid then COLO SPGS can sure as hell let pass this chump change deal. Like Carl said, LET IT GO!

This guy would have a cow if some of our new downtown residents decided to take up tables in his bookstore. NIMBY my have a cow. Imagine the first second and third time used syringes turn up in that place.

Why would we rush this? There is not enough time to get a project like this ready by December. If we push it this way, we will end up with a mistake ridden regret project. Let it go.

Jay Why:

"instead of asking her to prove her case why don't you address the overage the sheriff has collected?"

Because I wasn't arguing with her point. It's her tone that's offensive. Name calling and insults are the last resort of those who are losing on the facts. She should stick to them.
