-----People of color face disproportionate challenges and stigmas in accessing mental health care

You may remember when we as willingly attached that term to rape. Curiously we are doing it again. I do not recommend doing it.

Re: “Tyler Walker added to 'Brady list'

The cop should have the same think happen to his daughter, wife or mother (unless he already has done it to them himself) and every other cop on that floor should have this happen to their own family members. What no one seems to understand is that these pieces of crap are so out of control and except for surveillance held unaccountable for their actions They are immune to prosecution....look it up. As outlined by the Supreme Court in Harlow v. Fitzgerald, 457 U.S. 800 (1982), qualified immunity is designed to shield government officials from actions "insofar as their conduct does not violate clearly established statutory or constitutional rights of which a reasonable person would have known". The problem is proving it. The government has made it difficult to tear down these walls called immunity because it favors them also, the prosecuters, the judges, any public official. The only reason this woman was not raped as she lay on the floor bleeding was because of the video camera's. Cops love hiding behind that Thick Blue Line and it has to stop. Remember, that could be your wife, daughter or mother lying on that floor and maybe there won't be a video camera recording them for their safety.

Re: “Reader: Red light cams don't address the underlying problem

Personally I dont think its the timing between the yellow and red I think its the synchronizing of the lights on the thru streets. Its very hard to move traffic if the lights dont sync and that causes people to try to rush in order to get past the next light. Its been that way for years in the Springs.

Re: “Reader: Red light cams don't address the underlying problem

Yeah I am going to have to agree with the author here. I've lived in a lot of cities but Colorado Springs takes the cake for the worst designed traffic system. Odin mentions traffic engineers- I am not sure if COS actually employs practiced engineers- or more likely and as is in line with this city, COS employs a BS company and someone gets a kick-back somewhere. in the 6 years I've lived here, one constant thought I've had is that COS must not have actually had any coherent plan for their traffic, ever. And all the responses that are critical of the author, make excuses for our horrible congestion and traffic, etc., you all are such a major part of the problem because you are slaves to the status quo. You are too afraid or ignorant to call out the actual problems and instead continually blame the messenger.

Yep too bad Hillary and the DNC corrupted the primary. We could have had a true politician for the people with Bernie Sanders. Dumb HRC voters had to ruin it though

Re: “Reader: These times call for public transit

Yeah we need to stop making excuse and stop listening to people living in the past. We need a reliable inter and intra city public transport on rails- this is ridiculous. I've lived in the area for over6 years now and watched time and again as corrupt projects get forced through- we need to put an end to the BS and make the city and county work for us on what we actually need.

No City for Chumps- no more widening I-25- no more buddy-buddy development projects. How long are we going to know we need a responsive government without having one before we do something about it?

Re: “Needle exchange debate by El Paso County Board of Health ends with "no" vote

I have to agree with the decision. Everyone knows that illegal IV drug use is highly risky, dangerous and illegal. If you are going to ignore that and do it anyhow, it is unreasonable to think that the rest of society should have to pay to help you get clean needles. @JayWhynotaskme, there is probably some merit in your assumption. And probably not a lot of sympathy if that is the reality.

Kinda looks like they think that the drug users will kill themselves off without the programs in place to help them.....hmmm i wonder.....

Re: “UPDATE: Dobson endorses Roy Moore for Senate

DR. Dobson should be ashamed of himself . He put politics over morality. He gives Christianity a bad name. How low will Dr. Dobson go to elect an republican. His values have gone from God WE TRUST to REPLUBLICAN WE TRUST and the hell with God. I don't think he realize he has reached that low. This is what happens when you get tainted with the world.

There's ample data showing needle exchange programs are effective.

Re: “Needle exchange debate by El Paso County Board of Health ends with "no" vote

If Council member Gaebler would have attended the meeting, she would have seen health professionals admonish the program. There is no accountability for 112,000 exchanged needles in Pueblo. One of the worst drug environments in the state is in Pueblo where "drug kits" were issued through this program. One prior heroin addict stated this program would do nothing to fix the problem. One health care professional with over 50 years of experience counseling addicts stated this would be the worst thing we could do for addicts. What's really interesting is we were going to locate the program on the west side where the worst homeless problems are along the creek. Enabling addicts is not the answer!

Thank you to everyone willing to step up and speak to the negative reality of this program!

Re: “Needle exchange debate by El Paso County Board of Health ends with "no" vote

Mrs. Littleton's idea that 'better education and outreach' will solve the 'infectected needle' problem is splendid except for the fact I have never seen anyone reading a health brochure while shooting up!

And Peggy, druggies generally do not vote.

Sad to see our socially (not fiscally) conservative county commissioners put politics ahead of the health and safety of our community members.

Re: “Reader: These times call for public transit

Inter-city public transport is doomed to failure unless really good intra-city public transport is put in place first. The HyperLoop, Front Range fast rail service, etc are all colossal wastes of money unless that critical flaw is fixed first. Every place that has tried it has found this out the hard way and the inter-city transport ends up being a black hole for money relying on government bail-outs (IOW increased taxes) to keep it running. However, the intra-city services do fairly well without the inter-city services.

Having lived overseas (mostly in Europe, including in Italy) for over a decade I can tell you that the reason why the inter-city transport works overseas is because they have excellent intra-city public transport.

I adamantly oppose throwing any money at these inter-city services if the intra-city services are not done first.

Re: “UPDATE: Dobson endorses Roy Moore for Senate

Gregaj7:

Unhinged post.

"The accusations/allegations against Roy Moore have completely fallen apart." BOGUS. NONSENSE.

If Roy Moore "walks in the righteousness of Christ" and is being falsely accused, you have to discount the credible reports of his victims. That is, in a word, shameful.

Pedophilia aside, Moore is unqualified for the Senate. He can't/won't take his oath office to support and defend the Constitution. He has already established his rejection of the Constitution. He was removed from office twice for disobeying lawful court orders.
