Re: “Trifecta bares it all onstage

Speaking as someone who has actually met these creatures and performed alongside them, i can tell you they are QUEER AS ALL HELL, moreso in my opinion than the whitewashed, heteronormative, well-behaved (aka tightass) types the LG(BT yeah right) movement slaps on the cover of everything they do nowadays.

As people who defy convention, challenge patriarchy, and are unabashedly themselves while accepting all others unconditionally, these women are, in my opinion, actually prime candidates for the sort of folk we want representing us in the arts.

i would cordially invite @Aquastar99 to fuck right off and actually educate themselves on what intersectionality means for us and when white and straight are actually the enemy vs when they are not. i encourage this commentator to direct their energy into combating the real forces of oppression we face, not insulting some of our finest warriors with her ridiculous assumptions of identity.

Ugh.

Re: “Springs fleet contractor, Serco, sues the city — again

We always hear that privatised services save money but it has been my observation that the opposite is often true. The profit motive always ends up tipping the scales. However in this case, I know that companies need to know that this city rarely jumps into something like this with both feet. So be careful how much blood you put into future business with them.

Re: “Trifecta bares it all onstage

Aquastar99 shame on you. You don't know these women and what they truly desire. They have enough room in their hearts to love more than what's between the legs and they are no where near unworthy to represent the community just because they are married. I am proud to call them friends and am delighted to see that they are representing the LGBTQ. They will always fight for the equal treatment of all. It's a shame that we,as a community, attack each other just because someone doesn't fit into the stereotypes. You really need to do some self reflection before passing judgement on someone else.

Re: “A 2015 Ponzi scheme continues to take tolls on uprooted area families

I "sold" my house to Richard Roop in 2013 to avoid foreclosure. The new "buyers" were chased out by bankers when Richard Roop stopped making payments on MY mortgage after he was jailed. It was never part of the receivership. The mortgage foreclosed anyway. This guy is a crook and a con artist.

Re: “Trifecta bares it all onstage

Aqaustar99 do you know all these women personally AND every person they have been with? How you know they're straight? Because they're married? I'm married to a man and munch the ladies right alongside him. How queer is queer enough? Do they all need to be holding a tub of hummus aloft in one hand and a vulva like a bowling ball in the other, hairy armpits displayed for all to see? Stay in that little pigeon hole you have created for yourself but don't try to jam others in one.

AQUASTAR99 - You're doing what you claim to hate. Being a bigot. Just because they may not subscribe yo YOUR queer standards does not make you end all be all in the Queer world.
You want equal rights? Then treat EVERYONE as an equal.

Re: “Citizens for Safer Neighborhoods wants retail marijuana in the Springs

"The effects of legalized cannabis stores, besides the tax revenue generated, it would allow those citizens who deem it necessary to carry a firearm to be able to legally purchase cannabis to be used as medicine. Anyone knows that the medical cannabis registry does not allow one to own a firearm." - Ed Sanders

1) You conflate owning with carrying.

2) It is still against federal law to use MJ, regardless of recreational or medical, and own or purchase a firearm. If you walk into any firearm store while reeking of MJ, they will ask you to leave.

Re: “Citizens for Safer Neighborhoods wants retail marijuana in the Springs

Don't bring retail marijuana to colorado springs. Unless we want more vagrants and hippie trash from around the country spraying graffiti on our mountains! For shame ... I see colorado springs is doing pretty darn well without retail marijuana. Also marijuana is not as safe as people are making it out to be. It IS addictive and there are withdrawal symptoms and they can be very bad, severe anxiety, deppression, night sweats. Im speaking from experience of these symptoms. I wont be suprised to see 20-30 years down the road new ailments caused by the use of marijuana. Of coarse everything in moderation, but the kids my age only believe in abuse. I was all for the legalisation but now i am regreting it because of what it did to our state. The money is good but at what cost?

Re: “A new vision for downtown Springs in Olympic Museum area

The buildings and designs are Sooooooo Colorado Springs, don't ya think? Now maybe Colorado Springs can shed this rugged western, pull yourself up by your boot straps, image that it thinks it has and get to the business of "being just another town with tall ugly buildings."

Re: “Springs fleet contractor, Serco, sues the city — again

Serco , when realizing they were losing money, should have sought relief in the beginning of year 3. When it was discovered that there was no agreed upon pricing for out years 4 & 5, Serco should have initiated negotiations for relief including out years 4 & 5.
Upon discovering that a panel was made up of city employees and an outside attorney from another city, Serco should have terminated the agreement being as they had the "deck" stacked against them. This was a bad contract.
Solution: Serco should absorb their losses, save the court costs by dropping the lawsuit, and return to their corporate base.

Re: “Citizens for Safer Neighborhoods wants retail marijuana in the Springs

The effects of legalized cannabis stores, besides the tax revenue generated, it would allow those citizens who deem it necessary to carry a firearm to be able to legally purchase cannabis to be used as medicine. Anyone knows that the medical cannabis registry does not allow one to own a firearm. The simple fact that now citizens could buy legal cannabis and skirt this rule should have conservatives and libertarians cheering.

A more relaxed and less anxiety prone populace is not a bad thing. Allowing the citizens of Colorado Springs this opportunity to purchase legal cannabis should be a foregone conclusion. After all, we voted for it five years ago...

Re: “Citizens for Safer Neighborhoods wants retail marijuana in the Springs

Your just another newspaper failing the community by not , like every other news outlet hasnt been doing, doing an indepth report on the effects on lives of legalised marijuana. You know the city. Yet you dont truly report on the effects this has had on the city for 3 years. Who knows why but it is a failure on your part
And that sucks for those who have no voice in this city. I like it. But im not oblivious nor deaf to the voices or effects.
This newspaper either does not care or god knows what.
