Re: “Disabled people to Corey Gardner: Our survival depends on Medicaid

Enough of the wild hysteria! This plan would NOT affect the people depicted in this lying hatchet piece. It might affect able bodied people who choose not to work, but they need affecting. Senator Gardner, please vote YES.

Re: “Springs firefighters look to petition a collective bargaining measure

$ 70,000 for a Firefighter who makes mostly Medical Alarms (5 % are actual Fire Alarms) should be allocated
to the Memorial Hospital or Obamacare ?

Taxpayers aren't getting Fire Protection, they are paying for Healthcare !

Re: “Medical marijuana license fee hike closer to reality

They should not do this on the backs of the patients, who will likely bear the cost. What do we expect out of an anti medical cannabis council? I expect the patients to be first.

Re: “Reader: Why not choose clean, sustainable energy anyways?

Rocky Smith- You mean big, upfront money like that spent on the Neumann Systems contract? A $190M fleecing that would have been better spent on real GREEN technology, rather than expensively (and dubiously) prolong the lifespan of 19th century energy production methods? THAT kind of big money?

Re: “Pikes Peak Summit Complex still worthy of higher cost

What percentage of those "6 million visitors a year" are here for recreation purposes vs. business, Ralph? When ANY public project's budget doubles, seemingly, overnight, I think the citizens (who will, ultimately, be on the hook for this thing) need to raise their level of healthy skepticism...no matter how nice and "sustainable" the new "attraction" will be.

So, if we "beleive you that the price will be worth it", and it turns out to be another fleecing of the taxpayers of Colorado Springs for the betterment of a small grpup of 'connected' local businesses, are you going to write a check to make it right? I didn't think so...?

My Mother was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer about a one year ago, she has had an extremely difficult journey. She has had two rounds of chemotheraphy, one round or Y90 Radiation and now is experiencing liver failure. Jaundice, a weak appetite and depression are a few of her symptoms. Re: “Cannabis and skin cancer

My name is Debra Warren, i am from Florida USA. I never knew cannabis oil was indeed wonderful and very effective in treating cancer diseases. To hell with the government and their insane policy,if not for the government and their so called rules in regulating cannabis my husband would have still been alive. Thanks to the newly policy for legalizing cannabis in my state i would have also lost my son to kidney cancer, i was really touched and surprised when i watched lots of documentary on how cannabis oil had helped lot of people whom their family members never thought they could make it after undergoing several Chemo. From the dept of my heart i must say a word of appreciation to the Rick Simpson Team for the timely intervention in the life of my son suffering from Kidney Cancer. as i am writing this testimony on this Blog my Son is so strong and healthy in spite he hasnt completed the total Dosage for your cannabis and medical consultation and information on how to get the oil try and get in touched with the Rick Simpson Team through email: info.rickcannabis10@yahoo.com CALL OR TEXT:::: (+1) 989-941-3969 so he can enlighten you more.

Feeling so Delighted.
Debra Warren...

Re: “Coordinated evacuation amid Waldo fire? Not hardly

I too, along with my wife and fellow Councilmember Val Snider, evacuated/fled/drove like Hell at about 4:45. At the time I was surprised how fast we got east of I-25 but in reflection I think we missed the bulk of the traffic by a mere few minutes. And we left when a fire engine pulled up close to our house at the top of Mountain Shadows and the fire Lieutenant got out of the truck, pointed his finger at me, and yelled "MR. HENTE: LEAVE!"

That being said, I think the part of Mayor Suther's comments with regards to the multi-jurisdictional response protecting homes and setting up fire lines is very accurate. I was fortunate enough to go back into the neighborhood at about 10:00 that night and saw first hand the heroism and dedication of hundreds of fire fighters, police officers, CSU employees, etc. that prevented the loss and devastation from being much worse than it was.
