Re: “Pastor Ted gets an unexpected competitor

One summer I visited my family in springs. They invited us to attended this "church/full on coffee shop in the lobby"...I know this is standard now at these super churches...anyway...Teeth Haggard gets up there...and instantly...I call it. This guy is a creep. Big gummy smile. I have that gift. BS at a mile away. I'm also a I know that tactics of NLP.
I told my family...this guy is creepy what are u doing here...but since I was the prodigal black sheep from California...I was ignored. So they continued giving$ n time to feel better about their dysfunctional life. Anyway one penis and a crack pipe later he's doing his best "Jimmy Swaggert"
I quickly called them. So are u still going there? "Well a new guy took over". $:&;!
Unbelievable...u can't he's the blind that are willingly and repeatedly plucking their own eyes out. Dont give me the "but churches do so much good." It ain't right if its all to justify their crack n pipe habit....and purchase their third home.
Wake up and see the ain't a big gummy toothed pastor.

Ps his failed reality show was a further attempt to lure in the weak. It failed too. But I'm sure we haven't heard the last of Toothy Ted.

Re: “From a nightmare to rebuilding a life

This should a shocking story about the abuse of power, but sadly this is our DA's office to a T. They'll take a case of sexual assault and try to ruin someone's life even if there is absolutely no evidence and even the jury agrees that it was ploy to win a custody in a messy divorce. And then will allow documented cases of felony perjury to just skate through the system. The biased nature of our local DA is overwhelmingly obvious. I hope that more stories like this can come to light and the DA office coupled with all of magistrates and judges that add to this local corruption can be brought to task. Instead of realizing this gentlemans purely circumstantial involvement in this case, the DA wasted time and our tax dollars pursuing a unobtainable conviction and feeding the defense lawyers that feed on defending people against these frivolous charges. We as a community need to call for reform. The DA office should be ashamed of this, but it's become so normal, that at this point, the only solution is a change in the administration.

Re: “Aging along with Aerosmith

Great article. I want you to know that Hopedale is still a nice, small town. I have only lived here for thirty years, but your article reads like it was yesterday.

Wow Rex...this article was awhile back and don't know if you're still with us, but all of this makes me think of Shirley and Don Snyder. Some very good times with very dear people. Hope you are well...Mikki

Re: “Dusting off Gold Hill Mesa

This article is total crap. Do your homework. The heavy metals that are left from the gold mill have been remediated and capped. They don't blow around. That is all that is needed. The developer VOLUNTARILY cleaned it up with the state. It is safe. I'd worry a lot more if I were around that neighborhood, in the unremediated areas where the metals flowed to. So, you know, the old west side. We are in a mineral-rich area, there are tailings ALL OVER this town. In fact the Villa De mesa townhome community right next to Gold Hill has been there 25 years and is unremediated. No one has had any problems there.

Also, many people grow and eat food in Gold Hill. I haven't seen any kids with two heads. What you sign is not growing anything that has roots down to 6 feet, below the cap. Which is like one type of beet. So you can't grow that beet. Otherwise it's fine. Also, remediating a site close to a city center is a lot more socially responsible than buying a sprawl house on the east side. This community is doing good for this town

This guy is a joke of a journalist.

Re: “The season for giving grief

Which is it Rich, are you against gun violence or for it? Last column i read from you was promoting Gary Flakes as a civic leader. You could care less for Flakes victims or their families with your Flakes rant. Yet you give him a full pass? Like one of the comments said in that article, you really need to take a good hard look at your hypocrisy in the mirror.
If someone brutally murdered your family would you be so willing to forgive?

Re: “Here's to our highway

Hey buddy, you wrote nearly the same piece when the speed limit was increased to 65 through town. CDOT raised the speed limit after studying traffic flow rates in the area. I know some people are just uncomfortable at higher speeds even if their chosen car is easily capable of 75+ mph. As far as your pinto- you may consider telecommuting, carpooling, or moving closer to the Indy. Please keep unsafe vehicles off our communal roads. Traffic has much the same properties as water; if the flow is impeded it will find a way around, left, right or on the shoulder is fair game when passing inept motorists, right?

REALLY? So you bitch about burning coal. You bitch about nuclear, you bitch about wind power. No matter what anyone does, you bitch about it. Maybe renaming your column "Ranger Bitch" is in order.

Thanks for the long rambling note. I hope I am indeed alive and well in four years. ONE year would be nice. Anyway, thanks for your insight. You should have gotten involved in local politics.

Re: “Joining the winning team

"From an actual letter to the state economic commission:" Really? You have seen actual letters and/or emails sent to the EDC? Regardless, agree that Bruce Jenner doesn't have the appeal of Garbo, Dietrich, Keaton, etal, to whom no shrines have been built.

During the blitzkrieg campaign unfolding to sell the wobbly benefits of building a stadium/museum complex, benefits that include putting COS on the road to duplicate the success of Oklahoma City, a city that just like COS had the empowering vision to build a stadium. Or was the success of OKC due to the obvious - that city's embrace of energy - not wind farms but OIL - and the revenue and prosperity for all that followed hard upon.

Our mayor says he wants the approval of the people, the very people who will be paying $350M and then some to build and maintain C4C for the next 30 years. City council is an important player in the decision making process. Let your opinion regarding C4C be heard. Contact them at

Re: “Joining the winning team

"into something different. Frankly, anything different." Words that can be applied to why COS local government changed to a Mayor-Council form of government. Residents wanted any type of change for the City and approved a ballot measure despite the charter having numerous errors and being unclear on responsibilities between the executive and legislative branches. I think if you read the report and really listen to their comments, EDC gave COS the money in order for our City to recover. Despite having both a 3rd party economic analyst and EDC staff recommending lower amounts, as well as some of the official application criteria not being met, they approved the full amount. Why? Fire, flooding, and being the only City to apply got Colorado Springs that money. It wasnt who wrote letters, or traveled on a bus thru a wintery storm, or who even sang for some dollars. COS has a chance to make some monumental changes for the City and Im excited to see a fire lit in this City to improve it's situation. It's reminds me the deal my hubby and I made with our teenager. "If you get all A's and B's, only then you can have a phone." The offer and opportunity are there for COS but action still needs to be taken. Rich, if you are still alive nor senile in 5 years, hopefully you will be writing on the completion and successes of the 4 projects. The real work of planning, funding, and community conversations begin now.
