Re: “New female AFA commandant moving here soon, with her wife

Well, the female Rocky Mountain Methodist bishop is a lesbian with a wife. Must be the high altitude. Sick beyond belief.

Re: “Citizens for Safer Neighborhoods wants retail marijuana in the Springs

Don't bring retail marijuana to colorado springs. Unless we want more vagrants and hippie trash from around the country spraying graffiti on our mountains! For shame ... I see colorado springs is doing pretty darn well without retail marijuana. Also marijuana is not as safe as people are making it out to be. It IS addictive and there are withdrawal symptoms and they can be very bad, severe anxiety, deppression, night sweats. Im speaking from experience of these symptoms. I wont be suprised to see 20-30 years down the road new ailments caused by the use of marijuana. Of coarse everything in moderation, but the kids my age only believe in abuse. I was all for the legalisation but now i am regreting it because of what it did to our state. The money is good but at what cost?

Re: “A new vision for downtown Springs in Olympic Museum area

The buildings and designs are Sooooooo Colorado Springs, don't ya think? Now maybe Colorado Springs can shed this rugged western, pull yourself up by your boot straps, image that it thinks it has and get to the business of "being just another town with tall ugly buildings."

Re: “Springs fleet contractor, Serco, sues the city — again

Serco , when realizing they were losing money, should have sought relief in the beginning of year 3. When it was discovered that there was no agreed upon pricing for out years 4 & 5, Serco should have initiated negotiations for relief including out years 4 & 5.
Upon discovering that a panel was made up of city employees and an outside attorney from another city, Serco should have terminated the agreement being as they had the "deck" stacked against them. This was a bad contract.
Solution: Serco should absorb their losses, save the court costs by dropping the lawsuit, and return to their corporate base.

Re: “Citizens for Safer Neighborhoods wants retail marijuana in the Springs

The effects of legalized cannabis stores, besides the tax revenue generated, it would allow those citizens who deem it necessary to carry a firearm to be able to legally purchase cannabis to be used as medicine. Anyone knows that the medical cannabis registry does not allow one to own a firearm. The simple fact that now citizens could buy legal cannabis and skirt this rule should have conservatives and libertarians cheering.

A more relaxed and less anxiety prone populace is not a bad thing. Allowing the citizens of Colorado Springs this opportunity to purchase legal cannabis should be a foregone conclusion. After all, we voted for it five years ago...

Re: “Citizens for Safer Neighborhoods wants retail marijuana in the Springs

Your just another newspaper failing the community by not , like every other news outlet hasnt been doing, doing an indepth report on the effects on lives of legalised marijuana. You know the city. Yet you dont truly report on the effects this has had on the city for 3 years. Who knows why but it is a failure on your part
And that sucks for those who have no voice in this city. I like it. But im not oblivious nor deaf to the voices or effects.
This newspaper either does not care or god knows what.

Re: “Wommack's pathway to prominence

My husband and I have been partners with AWMI for 20 years. Andrew Wommack tells NOTHING but the truth. Of course, you'd have to know the truth before you can believe it.
Looking at his worth....God has ordained this man to minister the Gospel Truth which he does in a simple yet profound way. I'm sure his personal net worth far exceeds mine, however, God blesses those that bless others. and this ministry has not only blessed us, but has blessed millions of people around the world. I'm sure his personal bank account is not 11 million dollars but even if it was, I'd have to say, "Hallelujah." God is able to abundantly bless whom ever He chooses. Andrew has had more of an impact on our lives than any ministry in the last 30 years of our lives.
Try not be so judgmental when looking at the wealth someone has earned. Don't measure a person by the $$ amount. Instead, if you want to measure a persons character...measure it by how much they give. Andrew and Jamie have been known to give upwards of 70-80% of their income to advance God's message to the world. Andrew Wommack is the "Real Deal." What you see is what you get. We've met him 4 times and believe God has ordained him to do even greater works in the future. We so are grateful that Andrew and Jamie have been obedient to follow God's instructions in reaching the world. So the next time anyone decides to judge someone on the earnings....remember to judge yourselves by what portion of your earnings YOU give to help reach the world. This may help you put things in to it's proper perspective.
Last, I'd recommend you get Andrew's teachings on Christian Philosophy. This is an awesome teaching that will be sure to give you the biblical truth on a variety of issues. God bless Andrew and Jamie.

To begin, congratulations Lee, you deserve the recognition! But, I also have two questions: 1. Did you wash your hand after shaking it with that slime of a worm Suthers? 2. Did you give Suthers hell for his hypocrisy concerning Strawberry Fields?

Re: “UPDATED: Transgender service in the military — what's happening now?

I have a thought for all of you Conservative Christians and your End of Days beliefs Did you ever think that by Trump giving you the pro-rich tax breaks (GREED), anti-LGBT (not Unconditional Love), anti-choice policies (legalization not Grace of God), that he is actually creating the world situation that you are predicting will happen with the anti-Christ? LMAO!!!

Over the past twenty years, Trump didnt support your agenda but after the election he has changed his tune and this doesnt worry you too? Why would a POTUS reverse all of the progress for personal freedoms that he has been trying to take away recently? Dont you understand that God has given all persons the freedom of Choice and Grace, not legalization of YOUR religious beliefs? and that it doesnt line up with the message and life of Christ? Greatest Commandment is to love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength & YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF!

Im laughing all the way to the Return! (Yes, I am a born again lesbian, follower of Christ not religion, and there is nothing you can do to change this- its incorruptible seed of God, the power of Christ within! DBW

Re: “Local Democratic leadership tries to rekindle a fraught relationship with organized labor

It was 2011 when the incident happened about which the IBEW guy has his nose out of joint? Come on folks, time to move on beyond, way past time. May I point out that Chuck Murphy is an important community leader, and a very generous man who has supported the El Paso County Democratic Party for years, enabling it to grow and do good things in this community? The "business side" of running a political party is as important as the organizing side. While I don't know the specifics of the squabble with the electrician's group, folks need to let this conflict go after 5 years, and work instead on their many commonalities. Mr. Murphy is a compassionate man who is important to the Democratic Party. We all care about getting the current occupant of the White House out as soon as possible, and we can't do it if old conflicts and divisiveness rule local Dems. We also can't do it if union members vote Republican......

It makes no difference how much is spent on the Summit House. A one year warranty for a $50M project? Hopefully someone will guesstimate $10M a year for maintenance cause it'll be needed. Who will pay for that?
