Re: “Please stand by: KCMJ experiencing technical difficulties

Correction. I stand corrected that it was 28 shows vs. 43. Apologies.

Re: “Watchdogs criticize Trump's easing of ban on 'politicking from the pulpit'

Actually, School Teacher 2014, as long as you're talking about reading things correctly, you may want to go back and first read what Ms. Walker is quoted as saying, and then read the actual letter from Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptists to which she is referring. She does not claim that 1A establishes the wall of separation, only that the founding fathers were explicit in their intent to create that wall for the benefit of both the religious community AND the government that is representative of all of the American people. It would appear your righteous indignation is misplaced.

Re: “Olympic museum to break ground

Why Colorado Springs will always be in Denver's shadow: Outdated decision makers that would waste $75M on a turd (i.e. Olympic Museum). The city already wasted half of that total ($35M) keeping the Olympic admin offices local (I hear children from across this nation begging their parents for a trip to the Olympic administrative offices)! Can we clear out the old money think tank and liven this town up?!

Re: “Colorado Springs Police pick up the pace on response times

Stop letting the developers run rampant. Not only can't the road infrastructure in this town keep up, neither can the CSPD hiring processes (especially since hitting 1 cone during driving training disqualifies you from the academy).

Re: “Old St. Francis Hospital assessed value soars from $50,000 to $2 million following report

Really like how they purchased it for 50k, then donated a million to avoid the taxes. If the Independent wouldn't have pointed it out it would have gone unchecked.

Re: “On Trumpcare, activists couldn't sway Rep. Lamborn. But what about Sen. Gardner?

I switched my party affiliation to GOP so I could vote in the only primary that matters here, and always voted for a real man and not the sniveling little coward Lamborn.

Re: “St. Francis Hospital assigned higher value

To build a new structure of that size would take at least $100M and we only value it at $2M for tax purposes. Just another insider deal and scam. On the other hand maybe Norwood will turn it into a homeless center, or rehab for all the addicts. Wake me up, I'm dreaming.

Re: “Please stand by: KCMJ experiencing technical difficulties

It's interesting to note as of 3/31/2016 KCMJ had 43 locally produced shows. I hosted (1), produced (2), and engineered 5 of those shows. KCMJ has had a myriad of problems since i.e. on the air, off the air. Show hosts leaving.
Today there are only 4 show hosts left as of Monday 5/15/2017. This is what happens when individuals THINK they know how to run an entity but in reality do not have the skill sets to do so.

Deducting the cost of cleanup before a cleanup ever occurs is a scam waiting to happen. If you want to use a clean-up incentive as a means to expedite reclamation of urban renewal sites it should be done ex post facto.

Re: “Story Coffee barista/roaster Eliza Lovett recovering after roasting accident

It's wonderful the community rallied around this barista, and a great example of what our community can do, thanks to the Independent. But how many poor and/or minority workers in our community have had an industrial accident that we never heard about, don't have a support network like this young lady, or work in something less interesting to the Indy crowd than elite coffee, or are not in the downtown area near Indy staffers? If the answer is that they aren't interesting to Indy readers, we have a real problem.

Re: “Yellow Face brings social commentary and comedy to the CC stage

I have to wonder, would this resonate with the marginalized communities of Colorado Springs? Colorado College, by median student family income, is the wealthiest private college in the nation with $277,500 in median family income. Now go drive by Chelton and Fountain and then drive around the neighborhoods south and east of there. Would the residents there find this article relevant to their lives? Are the sons and daughters of those Japanese sent to Camp Amache going to Colorado College, or is it the sons and daughters of Chinese government officials and corporate leaders? I can't help but feel this is elites lecturing other elites, and reinforces the perception that Colorado College is a bubble that aspires to claim moral heights, but ignores the application of those ideas in our own community.

Re: “On Trumpcare, activists couldn't sway Rep. Lamborn. But what about Sen. Gardner?

Lamborn is smug and arrogant and not threatened in the least. Watch the video of his town hall up on the north end of town last month. He doesn't care one iota for his constituents who disagree with him. I stopped calling his office long ago. Those of us who voted against him are completely disenfranchised in the House. Until demographics in Colorado Springs change, the best we can do is to become unaffiliated voters, and primary him out. Indeed, the ideal outcome til then is to have a freshman representative every session of the House.

Re: “Old St. Francis Hospital assessed value soars from $50,000 to $2 million following report

Hmm, sounds a lot like the downtown land exchange between the city and the Jenkins clan, where land values were lowered because of a supposed 'cleanup'. I estimate the city has helped the Jenkins clan get at least $2 million in tax deductions in two deals. Ka-ching!

Re: “Watchdogs criticize Trump's easing of ban on 'politicking from the pulpit'

Deb Walker misstates the 1st Amendment, which does NOT call for the "separation between church and state." I recommend she read the 1st Amendment and quote it properly. Her statement is the standard incorrect statement made by those who normally have issues with religious freedom.

Spiritual Law is important in the History of Civilization....................some Politicians find it annoying and a hindrance
to Governments.......................Trump did the what is necessary, remove legal assertions from Officials that Religious
Communities should not have a voice in public affairs .

God Bless Trump !

Re: “Reader: The bright side of a N. Korea nuclear attack?

Mr. "Howell," is that the best you've got? You'll have to get much more creative if you want to get on Putin's payroll. Personally, I hate all traitors trying to sell out America to Russia.

Re: “The future of science ain't what it used to be

"no one actually expects Trump to understand E=mc2." Very few people understand Einstein's theories, as evidenced by the fact that the equation, as printed in the article above, is totally incorrect.

Way to go Tammy Terwelp! You've made so many "tremendous" decisions at KRCC as of late. So many, in fact, that I no longer support you folks...
