Re: “Sheriff Elder lashes out at Indy reporter

You prove your theory. What would be their motive? If they arent required to be notarized, why would they have fraudulently notarized them? Unless they were instructed to do so. Please explain.

Re: “Drake Power Plant meetings slated to talk about sidelining

Poudre Valley coal-generated, SO2-scrubbed electricity: $22 per mWatt hr. Solar power, including massive subsidies: $100 per MWatt-hr.

Increasing electric rates nearly five fold is a great way to put financial stress on Colorado Springs ratepayers as well as chase the last remnants of manufacturing out of Colorado Springs. Add to the increased cost of production, calls from the mayor and the Gazette to increase the surplus rate (formally known as payment in lieu of tax or PILT) by at least 60%.

Utilities customers already pay an extra amount for each KWatt-hr they use to create a fake surplus in Utilities revenues that gets converted into a blank check for the City government. Continuing calls to provide a backdoor tax increase by upping the fake surplus above the new pothole tax and stormwater tax already put in place will continue to put stress on citizen budgets, especially those on fixed incomes

Re: “Sheriff Elder lashes out at Indy reporter

Holmes, youre avoiding the real issue. Do you really think those 2 employees took it upon themselves to illegally notarize hundreds of affidavits?

Again, no evidence! Please provide more than just worthless opinions! And arguing over affidavits that didn't require a notary in the first place is a waste of time!! :)

Re: “Drake Power Plant meetings slated to talk about sidelining

You're right about the city not planning. But the rate increases have come from trying to make this old power plant meet air quality regulations. It would actually be cheaper to shut it down.

Re: “Drake Power Plant meetings slated to talk about sidelining

Look for rate or tax increases because there's "NO PLAN" to cover the cost of an earlier DRAKE shutdown. This city never seems to plan for the future other than more "TAX/FEE INCREASES" to cover developer agenda.

Re: “Spring's downtown bicycle infrastructure progresses despite growing pains

I also work on Weber Street, and while I can confirm that there are still a few issues, they have been improving significantly as individuals have been getting used to the new configuration. I am extremely supportive of the work being undertaken by the City, Downtown Partnership, and associated groups to continue to look to the future and build an infrastructure that works for everybody.

While the roll-out of the Weber Street reconfiguration had some bumps, I appreciate the willingness to learn lessons from these imperfect roll-outs, and will look forward to continued connectivity for employees, customers, tourists, and residents.

Re: “Sheriff Elder lashes out at Indy reporter

Lol Mr. Randall,
This @Holmes guy has such a crush on Elder that if there was video of Elder committing armed robbery, he would somehow find away to ignore all the evidence and say it was fake news. (As evident in his responses to all the comments on Pams previous article on Elder). Anyway, keep up the great work Pam on exposing all the corruption! Myself and everyone I know, look forward to all your future articles regarding Elder.

Re: “Colorado Springs faces chore of setting up billing mechanisms for its new drainage fee

Any reason as to why the city is going to pay Utilities $1.8 million one time fee? And how about the $200,000 annually after that? Does that cover the city's assets, besides the $100,000 it has scheduled to pay?

Re: “Sheriff Elder lashes out at Indy reporter

And @Holmes once again ignores all of the facts in the original article, the fact that the documents in question are recorded with the Clerks office and available for public review, and the fact that law enforcement officers who signed those documents have already publicly acknowledged that there was not a Notary present when they signed. Yep, plenty of facts, that show that a crime was committed.

We know @Holmes is an Elder crony because of one glaring similarity.... they both LIE!

Re: “Sheriff Bill Elder calls Indy story "crap"

@JohnD The story about the Coroner being the only official who can arrest a sitting Sheriff has been around for years. I've seen it printed many times in many places but I've never seen it in the Colorado Revised Statutes nor have I had anyone show me any actual statute or rule of law in Colorado that makes it so. There is a law that states that it is the Coroner who assumes the duties of the Sheriff if the Sheriff is no longer available:

30-10-604. Coroner shall act as sheriff, when.
When there is no sheriff in any county, it is the duty of the coroner to exercise all the powers and duties of the sheriff of his county until a sheriff is appointed or elected and qualified; and when the sheriff for any cause is committed to the jail of his county, the coroner shall be keeper of such jail during the time the sheriff remains a prisoner.

That may be the source of the story. Even that statute, however, is up in the air as there is another statute the provides that the Undersheriff is to assume that role when the Sheriff is not available:

30-10-505. Vacancy in office - powers of undersheriff.
When a vacancy occurs in the office of sheriff of any county, the undersheriff of such county shall in all things execute the office of sheriff until a sheriff is appointed or elected and qualified. Any default or misfeasance in office of such undersheriff in the meantime, as well as before such vacancy, shall be deemed to be a breach of the condition of the bond given by the sheriff who appointed the undersheriff or the insurance policy purchased by the county on the sheriff's behalf.

Sitting Sheriff's have been arrested in Colorado a shockingly high number of times. And of all the ones I am familiar with, it was never a Coroner who made the arrest. Let's hope there is another soon.

Re: “Spring's downtown bicycle infrastructure progresses despite growing pains

I work downtown and Weber Street is a mess! I get why and the benefit but turning it to one lane each way has turned a downtown north/south major thoroughfare into traffic chaos especially with the added road construction and building construction taking place.

Cars are still driving in the bike lane thinking it's a turn lane and those waiting to get into Dutch Brothers use the bike lane as a waiting line. The vertical delineators do help somewhat but now they limit the space when a vehicle turns left from an east/west street onto Weber, especially if cars are stopped at the light on Weber. I would not even consider parking my car on Weber now. And if the delineators are removed for the plows, that's going to be even more interesting when we do have snow on the road.

It's been a couple of months and people still pull up behind the parked cars thinking it's a lane (it's actually kind of funny to watch their reaction - honking and yelling at the empty parked cars in front of them). Because Weber is no longer an easy north/south route, Nevada and Wahsatch are experiencing more traffic.

Re: “Housing and Building Association stormwater measure's biggest donor

A little late for people to see they have been manipulated by the City to pass another fee. All YOU who pushed InvestCOS probably did so knowing the developers were paying so they are not held accountable for all the issues they cause and all the issues overlooked by the City who is to make sure projects are built and engineered properly.

Re: “Sheriff Bill Elder calls Indy story "crap"

@Dufney, not only that, but if the man laying dying of cancer in the hospital, was a deputy then why did Elder need to go swear him in? If he was a deputy, in the month of May, why did he need to be sworn in? And then they took it over to be recorded, but then checked to see when it was recorded so they could put it on the plaque...what????
