Re: “Reader: This much is unclear on stormwater

Those are great points. The storm water fee is to create a revenue stream that some fool put in the Southern Delivery contract and now want to act like there is n emergency.

Suthers is another fool who thought he could get this fee and promised a fix to the EPA.

Re: “Stepping aside: Routon moves to retirement role

Thank you Ralph for a great run. I've enjoyed the Indy since moving to the city 12 years ago. I'll miss you and Rich Tosches but Pam and Adrian will do a great job going forward, as they have all along.

Re: “Leave your stinkin' drone at home

What about all the Harley Davidson motorcycles riding through the national and state parks. Way louder than any drone. The FAA officially controls the airspace not the parks or the city or anyone else.

Re: “Reader: Vote "yes" for the children

They can't afford to turn the heat on? But they can afford to sponsor the "EBSCO" and "Explora" databases that have been in the news all over the country for streaming p*rn and hundreds of "sex toy" advertisements into K-12 databases? Don't give them another cent until they get rid of EBSCO!!! Imagine the mismanagement of taxpayer money, leaving kids without basic needs, while peddling p*rn. See the National Center on Sexual Exploitation for more information, also see CBS4, Education Week, Fox Birmingham (EBSCO's hometown! ... EBSCO has publicly admitted the problems, but D-11 just keeps peddling the EBSCO...what kind of kickbacks do they get??) http://endsexualexploitatio...

Re: “Hiking Waldo Canyon then and now

Bob, although I appreciate your report (and I enjoy bushwhacking from time to time myself), isn't this report, in such a public format, going to encourage excessive damage from myriad social/rogue trail production? Shouldn't we work toward the establishment of "official" trails to minimize further destruction? Thoughts?

Re: “Reader: Did we forget what a disaster is?

WOW the incline? Really? Not a disaster from where Im looking. Disaster funds come in two ways. Emergency and then later Grants. I think that pretty much says it all. The first to rescue ya the second to put ya back togethe. But not for Recreation the Incline is recreation.

Re: “Reader: Did we forget what a disaster is?

Ask the City and the USFS if the first stage of repairs conducted on the Incline are already failing, meaning that ties that were reset in soil that has not been properly compacted are already coming loose again. Ask them if the required safety standards for the Special Use Permit demand that no ties move at all. Ask them if these issues were disclosed in the grant applications from FEMA and HUD. They will lie to you. Once the underlying bed of the Incline started to loosen, the only way to repair it is to tear it out completely and start over. Has our City committed grant fraud? Close the Incline once and for all.

Re: “Reader: Peaceful protest are for peaceful people

While not an advocate of guns I am of the opinion that there is a time and place for citizens to carry guns. Not all protests are peaceful. Guns were carried to a protest against White Supremacy because of the threats that were issued by the Hate Groups. You should note that these Hate Groups did not show their cowardly faces because the people who were fighting their hate chose to bring their guns. It took quite some bravery for these people to show up with their guns and not only face the Hate Groups, but the hate from those who they were there to protect. Since Trump was elected and we have had a free for all when it comes to these racist groups many citizens have realized that peaceful protests are no longer viable. You can have your own views on guns, as I do, but I take exception to the comment that they are cowards.

Re: “Reader: Get over it and win 2018 together

The Constitution is somewhat more ethereal than Eric's blather. The primary needs for the salvation of this nation do not include "sexual orientations" but rather humility before creation

Re: “Reader: The NRA is winning

The NRA has not "backed off". The BATFE has previously ruled that bump stocks are not illegal. The NRA has called for a BATFE review of that ruling. The only reason to review that ruling is to change it. They have stopped short of backing any particular bill regarding bump stocks. So any assertion that the NRA has backed off or trying to backpedal is horse manure

Re: “Reader: The NRA is winning

so now the right to bear arms is "god given"... the nra gun lobbyest have already backed away from the "restriction" part of their statement in regard to bump stocks. their chief lobbyest stated they only want more research done... almost had a few seconds where you thought they had a conscience and didn't only care about profits for the gun industry... I'm sure they want a few more million sold before they make a true decision.

I know the right wing fact free, propaganda only media is stating the vegas shooter was left wing but that has not been shown. might want to be sure before you make hateful ignorant hysterical statements...

Re: “Reader: The NRA is winning

We need to rid our country of the hateful ignorant hysterical leftists like the gunman in Vegas. You people are an utter cancer to our free and open society which will ALWAYS include the God given right to bear arms. Silencers have nothing to do with the vegas shooting yet another MSM democrat propaganda point. What gun law would have stopped stephen paddock? He purchased all his guns legally and passed baclground checks? You sick bastards didnt even wait until the bodies were cold. I hate you disgusting inhuman bastards you have no shame or empathy left in you. Keep drinking the democratic kool aid ralph. Thats what the left is a demonic evil cult.

You are an idiot if you think gun contol laws do anything to stop mass shootings im sorry. This guy was drugged up on valium reading antifa and ISIS literature. It is the left that is too radical and the left will get crushed in the 2018 midterms theres no question.

Re: “Reader: The NRA is winning

First of all, there was absolutely NOTHING stopping the Vegas gunman from buying suppressors and using them. Anyone who can legally own a firearm can legally own a suppressor. Furthermore, it is not hard to make improvised suppressors. The only change that the bill regarding suppressors would do is to reduce the length of the background check and remove the $200 fee.

The gunman used bump-stocks to make his firearms rapid fire. The NRA has supported restrictions on bump stocks.

The Supreme Court and the federal circuit courts have been very instrumental in controlling our firearm laws, and while you focus on the NRA boogeyman, the Second Amendment Foundation and Firearm Policy Coalition have been winning court case after court case. In fact, the two big Supreme Court cases, Heller and McDonald, were SAF cases, not NRA cases.

Re: “Reader: Demand a return to "regular order"

Personally I see the division of this Country coming from the selfishness of this Country. Very few see the WE in We the People. All there seeing or are concerned with is the ME. They concern themselves in what they personally can get from Voting and our Government and are very disappointed when someone else gets something they dont want or think is needed. Campaigns use this to build a base and if that base is strong enough then they win elections. A Politician once said "ask not what our Country can do for you but ask what you can do for our Country" That no longer applies very few see whats best for all of us they only see themselves.Very few Politicians see that they represent all the people there only catering to there base. Voting could change things but good luck in getting folks to think of the masses and not just themselves.
