Re: “Downtown stadium proposed for Antlers Park

Why are we still doing this? Nobody wants a stadium. It's a huge gamble as to whether or not it would be profitable. I'm not paying money tax to construct operate a for-profit business... especially one that will probably fail. I've seen high school football games with bigger attendance than your average Switchbacks game. Also, I live downtown. What would this do the parking situation? Let this terrible idea die.

Re: “County faces lawsuit over 2012 sheriff's tax

There are all sorts of other problems with that 1A money. Take the EPSO Patrol Division for example. The taxpayers were told that this money was to get more deputies patrolling the streets. After it passed, the ranks of the Patrol Division swelled to just over 100 deputies. Then Bill Elder showed up, with political favors promised to his supporters, which required money and positions to pay off. Now the Patrol Division is back down to less than 80 deputies. The jail is no different.

The taxpayers are paying more than they anticipated and getting less than they were promised.

Re: “Blockchain could change the cybersecurity game

Thanks for the article, but simply the reason that data is not stored on one central server does not necessarily reflect as it being more secure, in fact, to me; there are more ways that this data can be exploited if the proper security measurements are not implemented correctly. Even something simple as user ignorance, may place more data at risk in such a concept.

Re: “Banning Lewis Ranch amended annexation agreement released

For the record, I am not a K Street lobbyist nor am I a lobbyist for Norwood; I am a former employee but no longer have any financial ties to them. I have said in this newspaper before that our community could not have a better owner of BLR and I believe that still to be the case. I am a supporter of good public dialogue on important questions that does not include unsubstantiated assertions. There are good hard questions in the comments above that should be answered and answerable. I assure you that I am not going to do a point by point analysis of the changes. I do believe that the market has shown that it will skip over this land if it is overly burdened by 30-year-old thinking and regulation; I don't believe that is a good thing for Colorado Springs. The whole package has to be updated and this is the first step.

Re: “Reader: Tax animal products

Wow! So many dietitians and nutritionalists here! I've been vegetarian since the 70s, and I'm still alive! It's a murcal!! It's too bad we don't live in a country where we have freedom to eat what we want (if, of course, we can afford it), when we want, with whom we want. Oh.... Wait.... We do. No one forces me to eat anything an animal had to die to provide. No one forces you to eat salad. Ain't it great?

"self-destructive health impacts of their consumption and to effectively compensate society for the associated devastating environmental impacts."

Everyone for this should also be for a tax on religion... right!!!

Re: “How to make goat milk lotion

I love your recipe. Been making for 2 years. The Option works great. I have lotion made from over 1 year ago and not rancid. I do use arrowroot powder with it.

Re: “Voters need to affiliate by Jan. 8 in order to caucus in March

Don't think for a moment that the caucus process isn't worth your time.

Heard about all the corruption at the Sheriff's Office? Think we need a new Sheriff? That one is determined solely during the caucus process. Elder was selected that way, and was thus the sole candidate at the ballot.

Wow.... someone is having a really bad acid trip. Try detoxing and looking at this again.

Re: “Reader: A plea for responsible bar owners

Thats a ridiculous idea. By that logic taco bell should have to come clean everyone of their customers toilets, another loony bird published by cs indy. Why dont we take care of the HUGE problem with bums downtown. Pissing and crapping everywhere probably spreading hep c all over the sidewalk. Harrassing people. Its a miracle any downtown businesses can stay open.

Re: “Reader: Tax animal products

The idea that red meat and dairy is bad for you is totally laughable. Red meat is a vital source of nutrients like vitamin b12 and coq10. Without them you would literally die. Lets tax vegan foods instead. Oh wait nobody buys them.

Re: “CSPD records foul-up causes no problems, DA reports

"[DA] Dan May says not a single case was affected."

Probably true. His office was planning on pleading these charges down to nothing and putting the criminals back out on the streets regardless of the snafu.

Re: “Banning Lewis Ranch amended annexation agreement released

For those who have expressed an interest in comparing the two annexation agreements 'side-by-side', the city made a copy of the 1988 annexation agreement available instantly upon receiving the request. It is the one in blue and can be downloaded from link below:

Re: “Banning Lewis Ranch amended annexation agreement released

Go McKenna! I too would appreciate an article that highlights the changes! I'm sure I could look up a copy of the original agreement and compare the two but I'm not a reporter so I do not have the ability to disseminate any information that I might find and quite honestly, who'd believe me? I'm just a random guy: I need credible people to publish this information so that the general public can trust the source and make an informed decision /opinion. Personally, I feel that 1.6ish million a year in tax revenues is chump change.
