Re: “Undercover officers take the stand to explain infiltration of local Socialists

history is repeating itself - during the late 50s and throughout the 60s the fbi infiltrated groups that threatened the status quo - the purpose was to discredit and disrupt any challenges to the establishment. today we have a republican party that declares open class warfare with its tax cuts for the rich and a democrat party that seems satisfied with claiming a moral high ground thus providing the people with justifiable reason to pursue political parties which are the only opposition party in town therefore the state can be exhibited to use the same tactics as were used by cointelpro of the 60s. firing these officers is the tip of the iceberg.

Re: “Former El Paso County Sheriff’s Office notary says top officials ordered falsifying of hundreds of oath affidavits

Pam Zubeck, great job in following through with this. I hope the citizens of El Paso County put pressure on the sheriff and county officials including the DA, if he is implicated. I'm also pleased to see that your employers followed through with an attorney to back you up. The newspaper company I recently left never had my back!

Re: “Undercover officers take the stand to explain infiltration of local Socialists

Hey Metro VNI Lt. Mark Comte - This "mark" of yours, as many undercover cops do, tried to entrap members of this group by suggesting violence and trying to get protestors to act out.

I say these 3 cops need to be fired!

Re: “Ex state GOP chair convicted of voter fraud

What's most interesting about this article is what it doesn't say. While he should be punished for doing what he did, the article doesn't say how the investigation got started in the first place. The do not do DNA and handwriting analysis on every ballot that comes in. So why was it done on his? Was he specifically targeted because of who he is?

You can't tell me he was the only person who did this during the election. But the article is right, he was the only one charged with doing so. Why was nobody else investigated? Kinda makes ya think this investigation was politically motivated, which is also bad.

Re: “Sheriff's Office blocks reporter, Indy responds via attorney

Kudos to Pam for chasing this guy down.

Pam has the protections of law. Elder's deputies don't. Colorado law says they serve "at the pleasure of the Sheriff" and he can terminated them at any time without cause. Bill's behavior as seen in today's article is only the tip of the iceberg in how he treats his employees. You don't agree with him? You are immediately a target. That is why the vast majority of his employees are so afraid to say anything. That is the reason why Maketa went on for so long getting away with his shenanigans. Elder is worse than Maketa.

So, thank you Pam. All of your EPSO employees (ok, sorry, only the honest ones) greatly appreciate your work to expose what is going on. We dearly need to get rid of Elder and get some honest leadership for the Office. Please don't back down. Please stay on this until, like with Maketa, the rest of the media is forced to recognize what you have been saying all along and something gets done!!!

Re: “Venetucci Farm's future up in the air

What on earth has happened to the Pikes Peak Community Foundation? I knew there was a change in leadership, but did not realize that meant a change in mission, too. It sounds a bit like Trump coming in intent to undo any and all things accomplished by Obama..... it shouldnt be that controversial to value land preservation, organic farming, good food and CSAs. The foundation is very short on vision.....

Re: “Sheriff's Office blocks reporter, Indy responds via attorney

Another example of why we need Pam Zubek and other dedicated journalists. Thank you, Ms Zubek, for doing what you may consider a thankless job. Well done.

As for Sheriff Elder, the advice is the same as it would be for the current President. If you can't take criticism, it's not because it's "fake news." It's because you're petty and insecure.

Re: “Sheriff's Office blocks reporter, Indy responds via attorney

Douche bag Bill Elder is at it again!

You mess with the bull, you get the horns ... so hand over the information that we the citizens have a right to see. Just because you don't like the fact that a journalist is exposing your dirty deeds doesn't give you the right to block them from the information we have rights too.

You are a public servant! Remember that! You serve the people of this County! Now hand over of the information and quit being a bitxh! Your non-compliance is quite telling.

Re: “UPDATE: Ex-officer says he witnessed order to notarize deputy oaths

And, in other words, CBI doesn't want to comment on an OPEN investigation ... therefore, it "would not be appropriate for CBI to make any comments at this time." So, assuming CBI does their investigation correctly and they aren't part of this corruption, it will only be a matter of time before criminal charges are filed against Elder and Borland ... and maybe Janet Huffor too. What a way to ring in the new year!

Re: “Caramillo’s Christmas light tradition lives on

My husband and moved out of our house on Caramillo a few years ago, after 20 years on the street. The lights tradition started in the early 2000s, after we had been to Hilton Head Island and seen how a street had gotten together and decorated. We had described it to then Caramillo residents the Carters, and they said, lets do it! In those early years, the lights went so high up in the trees, you could see it as you approached from a couple of blocks away!
Cookie Night was a great addition after a couple of years.
So glad it continues - cant lose any more trees!

Re: “Undercover officers take the stand to explain infiltration of local Socialists

There is no reason to send in undercovers. An undercover was also placed into the crowd of a rally. A rally where threats were made toward the groups and people organizing. That cop acted like a distributor in audience. He was there in his bicycle helmet to try to make the crowd take a hateful turn.

Hey CSPD the threats that come in toward groups and individuals planning protests didn't get investigated but you 'infiltrate' groups looking to march. Go stop the gang activity! I thanked officers for keeping us safe during a march and one silver haired officer reacted with such disgust in his face. Get rid of that angry officer. I bet the CSPD hasn't 'infiltrated' the Proud Boyz nazi 3% meetings.

No wonder the City needed to pass a tax increase when over paying people.

I began asking that the City answer my questions about the appraisal that was submitted by the Broadmoor during the public comment process 20 months ago. I demand that the
City release the dollar figures in question for the needed repairs on the Barr Trail. See my posts on my Facebook page Cos Land Swap.
