Re: “Chris Isaak, Black P and Leftover Salmon book Springs dates

I would love to see Leftover Salmon, but at the Broadmoor? Oh no, no, no, cannot attend events there or patronize the Broadmoor in any way, they are destroying Colorado Springs with their greedy ways......

Re: “Handicapping the 2019 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees

One of the most glaring omissions, in my opinion, is Warren Zevon. When will his time come? The second, and more debatable omission is John McLaughlin. He helped Miles Davis, a HOF Inductee, pioneer Jazz-Rock fusion, and then took it one step further with the formation Mahavishnu Orchestra and Shakti respectively. The genre-bending/ creating McLaughlin should have a place next to his peers.

Re: “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame calls for fans to choose among 15 finalists

Umm Cleveland rocked last year and it will again in 2019 and in 2021, and 2023...and so on. That's because the hall of fame rotates their induction ceremony every other year between Cleveland and New York. Something you would have known if you had put even a passing attempt at research in for this article. But yet it's something you clearly did not as you made a joke that obviously indicated your lack of understanding in how or where the induction ceremonies are held each year "So much for that Cleveland rocks thing". If you had known that fact and you were a good journalist then you would have thought to include the fact that the ceremony ping pongs each year back and forth between Gotham and Brownsville to help educate the reader to the somewhat lesser known fact(So much for that not phoning this article in concept.)

Re: “The bromantic adventures of Kanye, Lydon and Trump

Maybe you should talk about CS going-ons rather than recycle lame lefty talking points found on mainstream media.

Re: “Insane Clown Posse at The Black Sheep show preview

Why does the music man writer here seem to dislike or distrust the FBI? I guess it must be because of political leanings of the Indy and they are forcing the boy to think as the editor does. A real rock and roll rebel! Stick it the man! Up against the wall motherfucker! Who Are The Brain Police???

Re: “Singer-songwriter Sean Anglum's sound advice

My thanks to Bill Forman for the opportunity to give some Sound Advice. An important ingredient to my online discovery, Bennett Wilson Poole, is the pedigree of Tony Poole as the leader of the great 70s/80s powerhouse folk-rock group, Starry Eyed and Laughing. I know that bit ended up on the editor's floor, but that cred puts the muscle in this new trio. Thanks again, Bill. - Sean A.

I would LOVE for this to be successful. Wondering where 700 people will park when they go catch a show?

Re: “The Side Door music space makes its low-key debut in former Blue Star spot

Music coming soon to some place not quite open... fun has been delayed but promised at a later date.
Colorado Springs has always in my experience been a fairly miserable place for live music and its getting worse than ever. Obviously the wanting to book acts that would play Denver means there is really no local musicians that can hold anyone's interest. And starting at 7PM and done at 11 is for schoolkids. Now we also have most bars closing at 12 or earlier, no smoking, poorly trained bartenders, karaoke listed as live music, cliquish open mics, rehearsed "jam sessions" but really no live music except Friday and Saturday except for the odd late afternoon last minute drum circles. I laughed awhile back reading here how some developer wanted to make this town another Austin Texas! What? 200 bands a night every night all over the city?! And the ballpark downtown too...you are what you is and ain't what you're not...

Re: “Daniel Burton on resurrecting Early Day Miners and being compared to William Faulkner

As someone who's overly familiar with New Orleans area from a young age, I just don't get all the fascination. It's an ugly, smelly, hot, politically corrupt, violent, environmentally-nightmarish place - and the food is overrated (seriously overrated). And sorry, but Mardi Gras is totally racist and stupid. I've been to more parades than I can remember and have relatives who are members of these "societies" and ride the floats.

The people who find artistic inspiration in this place can find it in any urban shit hole along with the associated "culture" it attracts - booze, smack, hookers, thugs, corrupt cops, crooked politicians, and overpriced food. I totally avoid NO when at all possible (Louisiana too, for that matter). Then again, I find the whole deep South area of the Gulf Coast to be a conservative backwater in need of federal occupation, so...
