Re: “Roasted Jalapeño Food Truck offers a sound selection

The Roasted Jalapeo didn't last long. They are selling their trailer AKA mini restaurant on wheels.

What a great idea for outdoor parties and weddings! I'm sure this idea will catch on quickly.

Re: “Little Nepal, Border Burger Bar, Dat's Italian

Presented 25% off coupon legit from Verizon hum and they took my phone in back to a computer continuing to scroll through my photos when I asked for my phone back saying that that was inappropriate and that I have personal photos credit card information etc. On my phone and they called me crazy and said that they were going to call the cops! Do not I repeat do not trust this place. Pretty sure they were intentionally treating me like a criminal because I caught them.at Dats Italian

Re: “Thirty Three cocktail lounge banks on exclusivity

What a joke. Just open a decent bar and stop trying to be cute. If you get as busy as the Cruise room or Death and Co up in Denver (who regularly have a large waiting list just to sit down) then possibly consider a "membership" model. Putting the cart before the horse and trying to generate buzz with exclusivity in Colorado Springs is a recipe for failure. 15C has struggled for years and multiple owners trying this model. Good luck you will need it.

Re: “Porkman’s Pit does good meat, learns the dos and don'ts of cheese

The Pork-ito has changed from the original as described in this article. The nacho cheese was replaced with fresh shredded cheese. However customers do still request the Nacho cheese and sometimes extra. Many orders of the burrito are custom made with returns for more. The coleslaw is advertised as homemade and the potato salad has never been. Return customers still enjoy it and continue to request it

Re: “Streetcar520 forges its own path in McCabe’s shadow

McCabe's Tavern is not and was not "deceased". McCabe's was Outleased when the rent doubled.
Coffee Exchange will be next - first the property owner puts $10k into (unnecessary) renovations; next time the lease is due up they will double it. RIP Coffee Exchange.
Later; when your drink, cup of coffee, bagel or sandwich ($15 falafel burger wtf) doubles, and ... Not the city growth many would choose to see.

Re: “Oka Ramen needs polish but offers good broth and noodles

We eat out often. Are always looking for good experience. And wanting to promote effort. OKA Ramen was none of these. Both entrees... the noodles were undercooked. My wife had a pork soup and had all of two pieces of pork. Dismal. I ordered a seafood ramen entree and it was beyond dismal. Scant portion. Undercooked. And the staff could have cared less. I kept reading going back two years that the place could use some polish. Ok, this is enough time to get it right. They have not. Forget it. I was as disappointed as I have ever been in a meal, ever. I want to give good reviews. I cannot come close in this. It is a low energy, uninspired restaurant. Stay away. And, we vastly overpaid for a dismal experience.. We return to EIM Thai around the corner and have a vastly better dining experience for about 1/2 the price. The staff at EIM Thai is as attentive, focused, pleasant... the polar opposite of OKA Ramen.

Why the amplify on these two establishments? Because they could not have been more polar opposite. I never give a negative dining experience. But in this case, it was so grating... well... you get the point. It is hard to screw up noodles. They did. Along with the rest of the servings. I do not seen how they could rescue their effort hence why I offered no encouragement.

Re: “A Woodland Nightmare

The trouble is with the 60 to 80 percent closed etc because they went back to old habits or raised their prices too much it's hard to believe with mange mange they had a world. Class chef who obviously produced great food they extended his contract but he left probably because things were beyond his control food quality badly reduced to what was used before the owner seemed a nice lady who was carding too much because she had not been trained to all the jobs and trained as owner manager those things take years you can't pick it up in five mins, 9 out of ten businesses like that close in the first year even with exsperienced people good luck to all if your one of these closed restaurants go to buissness and cookery college you can go at any age learn and gain exsperiance then come back fighting

Re: “Happy Belly Tacos announces planned opening, pop-up dinner

Piglatin caribbean and pork belly tacos are the bomb. How can you go wrong with either. I enjoy being so close to the restaurant, but also enjoy the atmosphere of a food truck. See ya all soon.

Re: “Vittles for Vests makes it easy — and delicious — to equip cops

Walk a mile in their shoes. Cop work is not fun.

It's safe to say that there are plenty of bad guys with an arsenal that the cops can't match. Mix your average drunk/high and disorderly types who think a handgun solves all problems. It's dangerous work, and I wouldn't do it for the paltry salaries they are paid.

There's some overkill in the "toys" they have, but you don't go into a gun fight with a knife.

Security is 50% preparation. It's better to have the tools you need and not use them than to need tools you don't have in an emergency.
