Re: “Story Coffee barista/roaster Eliza Lovett recovering after roasting accident

It's wonderful the community rallied around this barista, and a great example of what our community can do, thanks to the Independent. But how many poor and/or minority workers in our community have had an industrial accident that we never heard about, don't have a support network like this young lady, or work in something less interesting to the Indy crowd than elite coffee, or are not in the downtown area near Indy staffers? If the answer is that they aren't interesting to Indy readers, we have a real problem.

Thank you to all the Baristas who took shifts and showed what real community taking care looks like.

Re: “Juniper Valley Ranch has a strong showing in 66th year

So what if they cannot spell "consume" or "consomme"? the writer called the area "red-dirt scrublands" when it is commonly referred to by us old-timers as the pinion-juniper country or "PJs" for short.
Highway 115 has a large population of deer and turkey so drive carefully especially at dusk. There have been an elk or two in the area as well.
