And What if Your Are Hard of Hearing???

The Hearing Loss Association of America Colorado Springs Chapter will provide feedback on considering special communication needs for the hard of hearing. As in the Waldo Canyon Fire, lips were often not visible, there was no live captioning on TV for live coverage for 3 days, and no captioning during the live briefings. I am not talking about deaf people, who had sign language interpreters on TV and at the briefings. We are not deaf, thus do not use sign language - we use hearing aids, which do not provide perfect hearing; thus, we rely on lip reading - we need to see their lips close up; and we need assistive listening technology (mechanical or written word) for communication.
