Roger, Conant v. Walters is NOT a US Supreme Court opinion - it is an opinion out of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, which is not binding in Colorado, which is in the 10th Circuit.
Ms. Bliss, you wrote, "[S]uspension of habeas corpus and torture? Do you think Jefferson, Washington and Lincoln would have condoned this behavior? I think not." In fact President Lincoln did suspend habeas corpus in 1861. The details are included in the US Supreme Court opinions "Ex parte Merryman" and "Ex parte Milligan".
Bryce, if you can't figure that out on your own, you probably wouldn't be a very good city councilman.
According to the interweb, an average serving of chicken is .25lbs, and an average chicken is about 4lbs. Thus one chicken can provide a meal for 16 people. To feed the Colorado Springs Metro, 500,000 people, would take 31,250 chickens per week and 1,625,000 chickens per year (assuming we all want chicken - yum!). Unless I'm missing something, there are not 1.6 million chickens available locally, so this idea is impossible, right? Another consequence would be that due to the lost economies of scale, food prices would increase significantly, making food unafordable in poorer nations, leading to increased hunger and suffering there. Please, please do not buy into this eat local crap.
I mean Turducken! Turducken! Turducken!
Turduckin! Turduckin! Turduckin!
OK, a 5 min Google search told me that Kelloff sold the place in 2000, and according to the CO Secretary of State, Mitchell Kelloff Theatres, Inc. was dissolved in 2002. Oh, and Kelloff plead guilty to promoting obscenity in 1989. I guess you were to lazy to find this information or just didn't find it interesting. Good thing this rag is free.
