Re: “Despite reports, Gold Hill Mesa is a fine neighborhood

I hope that you REALIZE that the streets you mention: Silver Mine, Cold Claim and Pyrite Terrace ARE NOT in Gold Hill Mesa - those streets are in the neighborhood to the south of us in the Crown Hill Mesa Subdivision. Being a concrete construction company owner for over 31 years, I do believe much of the issues with the streets they have over there are due to a lack of proper compaction of the soils after the city utility lines were installed. There are other areas in CS (not on the west side) that have the same issue with their streets. I have friends that have homes in the Crown Hill Mesa Subdivision, namely on Silver Mine and they have owned their (20+ year old) homes for 10+ years now and they have had NO ISSUES with their homes. Neither the streets or the homes are "sliding" down the hill as you state. My mother was a resident at Brookdale Bear Creek, which is built up on the hill on 21st street and Lower Gold Camp and that building has been there for many years and is very solid. I have been in that building many, many times and have seen no structural issues inside the building or anywhere on the property. I live in Gold Hill Mesa, and have since February 2008 and I have had ZERO issues with my home! WE LOVE LIVING HERE - the close proximity to our neighbors is wonderful as we all have been able to get to know one another - it's like having a big extended family! Most of us have become to close (relationship-wise) to our neighbors! As a close knit community, we often look after each others children and pets, we take care of our neighbor's trash cans and mail while they are away and most of us even know our immediate neighbors garage door codes or have keys to their homes if we need to put their trash can in the garage or to close their garage door if it gets left open. There are many big groups of us that all go out to dinner together, hosts parties at each others homes and even vacation and spend Holidays together!! We also rally together when one of our neighbors has been ill/had surgery to provide them with meals or just a helping hand. We help one another with construction projects and moving. If a neighbor needs a ride to the airport or to borrow a ladder or jumper cables - neighbors step up to help. Our previous neighborhoods of 20+ years sure were not like that! We all LOVE the closeness (in proximity and in relationships) and will thoroughly enjoy living in Gold Hill Mesa in our "cookie-cutter, yuppie houses" (as you refer to them) for many years to come! I wouldn't wan to live anywhere else!!!
