As a Plaintiff in this case, I can state empathically that there is a lot more to this than what the article is stating. When the Coalition members and Plaintiffs get the opportunity to speak with others, be they city dwellers or people from other parts of our county, and tell them what has happened and what is ongoing, the people are disgusted and sickened. I have yet to hear one person respond in a manner that indicates that they believe that people and animals should be hurt and damaged for the benefit of a $72 Billion dollar corporation and their Profits. Moreover, El Paso County is NOT a poor, destitute county but is a very wealthy county. So for people to be manipulated into believing that the county and the corporation need large profits at the expense of residents and wildlife is simply a tactic to gain support based in falsehoods. Readers, ask yourselves why the Independent has not contacted Plaintiffs to get the full story.
